FMS Refuel

Featured Replies

Hi guysWhen I try to refuel using the FMS in FSM mode after starting (3,1, 2 ) after starting 2 I get a caution on the fuel page saying CG DISAG but i havent change any weights since preflight. But if i put the same fuel load using the fuel in the pmdg options I dont get this message.Any thoughtsThanksChris Finlay

Are you trying to say that you are refueling the plane after engine start? Refuel the plane before engine start. I usually don't even start the APU before refueling simply because it won't start during refueling :) Could it be that if engines are running while refueling, they are sucking the fuel from the tanks and the calculated fuel load won't hold anymore.. Haven't really tried ever so that's just a guess..

When you refuel via the FMS option you have to update the TOCG on the WEIGHT INIT page. You can do this after refueling using the following "cheat":1) Press the INIT button2) Use the PAGE key until WEIGHT INIT is visibile (page 2/3)3) Ensure BLOCK (1R) matches what was loaded.4) Right click TOCG (5R). This will put the actual TOCG in the scratch pad.5) Left click 5R to update the field.Done. You may need to re-accept your takeoff speeds and this should be done prior to engine start (AFAIK).-Bryant Martin

This is because if you enter the CG as it is shown on the SD before or during fueling, the CG is still being adjusted by the weight added during fueling. The SD displays the current CG, so if you use the value shown when you are still fueling, it will have changed by the time you start your engines, thus the error message. If you add the fuel in using the PMDG options, the fuel is added when you click OK, which means that if you go enter the value on the SD, it's not changing because the fuel has already been added.(If you're following what you did in the tutorial, in the tutorial, you didn't need to wait because the fuel was already when you loaded the panel state)
