December 8, 201015 yr Commercial Member Hi All!Read the logic behind the TextureMaxload formaulas and i think i got it. But i cant find answers for 2 questions:1) When i have unlimited in FSX and externalFPS limiter, Which of the 2 formulas i use? the one with unlimited or the one with e limited FPS? I am using the one with the limited.2) The formulas give the kb per frame. The total kb's (for all FPS) should around the total memory of my card or not?I mean now my formula gives around 768500 which is 30740 per frame (for 20 FPS). Is this necessary or it could be more?Of course i am testing by how my GTX295 is perfroimng with the tweaks, but i am trying to find a good start for the texturemaxload tweaks and not just drop in numbers...p.s. My h/w config is on the signature below __________________________________________________________________________________________ My FS Photos - My MSFS Settings - i7-14700K / 64GB RAM / MSI 4070 Ti SUPER / 1440p
December 8, 201015 yr Hi All!Read the logic behind the TextureMaxload formaulas and i think i got it. But i cant find answers for 2 questions:Here's a test for you to try:Use TextureMaxLoad with the following values:6, 9, 15 and 30You'll notice the 'effect' of it when aggresively panning around. The lower the number, the slower the textures around you will load (but CPU/GPU usage will be kept low)Increase it and see 'where' you start noticing 'stutters' and use that as your breaking point.Do all the above tests with UNLIMITED frames but using the external limiter set to 30
December 8, 201015 yr Author Commercial Member To tell you the truth i tried hard to notice the difference but with mult @ 70 i think that my breaking point based on what you say is 15...I am starting to hate my gtx295 for fs.....i wonder if disabling multi-gpu and physx from nvidia panel would do any difference or...trying to put one monitor in the hdmi out and the other in one of the dvi's..... __________________________________________________________________________________________ My FS Photos - My MSFS Settings - i7-14700K / 64GB RAM / MSI 4070 Ti SUPER / 1440p
