December 9, 201015 yr Having removed my installation of FS2004 and cleared the many related files from "strange" locations I have re-installed the software from new discs. When I select "run" it clicks and whirrs for a short time and then shows the following message"Aircraft Initialisation Failure Citation Paint1 Minimal_VC"Does anybody have any suggestions please?Happichap.
December 9, 201015 yr You must not have deleted your old FS9.cfg file.FS is trying to load your old default flight that called for the Citation.Find your FS9.cfg and look for the line situation=Erase everything on that line after the "=" sign, save and restart FS9.Or re-install the Citation. If you don't know where your FS9.cfg file is, post back with your OS as it's location varies with OS's.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.

It's strange if you've done a full reinstall as the Citation isn't of course one of the default aircraft so there's no reason why FS should be looking for it: your default flight should I think revert to a Cessna 172 on the active runway at Seattle-Tacoma. Have you got a Citation somewhere other than FS9/aircraft, or have you deleted it, maybe? As a solution - try starting FS9 in safe mode (should be an option from Start / All programs / Microsoft games etc.), change the default flight to the basic C172 at KSEA, exit and start again as normal. You may lose any keyboard / joystick assignments you've tweaked in the process but they're easily reinstated.
December 9, 201015 yr Author Many thanks for your thoughts. In fact, I had a Citation tucked away in an obscur place and it was my default aircraft with the previous FS9 installation. All sorted now and thanks for your suggestions.Happichap
