December 9, 201015 yr On several flights while either climbing or cruising the Bonanza begins a series of climbing stalls. They begin rather gently and become more severe until the plane want to enter a spin. This always occurs while on Auto-pilot. When I disengage the AP I find that the trim is full up and it takes a bit of fight to regain normal flight.Anyone else experience this? Suggestions for a cure appreciated. As it is this plane cannot be left unattended. Even my Radar Contact co-pilot couldnt keep it under control.Another question. Where is the Master switch on the Bonanza? The Avionics switch does not seem to work as it should. With battery and avionics switches both off there are still some instruments lit up. The battery in the OFF position should shut down everything anyhow....but it doesn't.I won't ask about some of the strange "jumping" views that have started. That problem s almost certain to be in my equipment.Regards to allNeal H. Neal Howard
December 9, 201015 yr Sorry, but I am at Myrtle Beach until Jan. and do not have access to FltSim at the moment to double check the items you mention, However,I have not noticed the problems you describe. Relative to the stalls as you climb, are you leaning your mixture for max power? What rate of climb are you trying to hold?Good luck:RTH
December 10, 201015 yr Author Mixture is leaned for max power using EGT and rate of climb usually 700fpm or less and below 10,000 ft. Rate of climb airspeed is well within the green range when stall routine starts. Note too, that it also occurs during normal cruise (level flight). Neal Howard
December 10, 201015 yr Hello Neal:Well, I am as stumped as you are. I did run into one situation in recrceating "Amelia" where barometric pressure went so low that power could not be maintained, but if you are not flying in Pakistan and still in the green that surely is not the problem. One last shot: Do you start FlightSim with a default aircraft? If not, I would suggest starting FS with the FS 172 at Seattle, then selecting the bird in question and just see what happens (Don't really think the location matters). With some secondary third party aircraft as the startup selection, I have found that strange things do sometimes happen otherwise (particularly concerning starting the engines). If this does not help, hopefully some kind soul will come up with a suggestion that does.Sorry I could not be of help and good luck:RTH Mixture is leaned for max power using EGT and rate of climb usually 700fpm or less and below 10,000 ft.
