December 14, 201015 yr Ok I have an aircraft currently thats a little outdated. The next gen is about to be released irl and i've done the homework to make the aircraft.cfg as close to the real thing as possible. Next I need to update the looks, The current aircraft only has 4 blades on each prop where I want it to have eight. Is there a way to simply add the props?OHH and I almost forgot I also wanted to add glass guages and change the cockpit lighting
December 14, 201015 yr Ain't no such thing as a dumb question! As for the props, I believe you are stuck. They are in the model which can't be altered. For a 2D panel, it is a matter of finding the Glass Instruments that you want to use, and edit the panel.cfgIn the panel.cfggauge00=foldername!gaugename, 338, 505, 95, 105...Where "338" and "505" are the X(l r) and Y(u d) pixel coords in the panel's bitmap. That point corresponds to the upper left corner of the gauge's bitmap."95" and "105" are the gauge width and height, also in bitmap pixels.Make backups for everything you intend to change. If the gauges are .xml versions you can use their background bitmap for reference. If they are .gau or .dll it's gonna be a lot of cut and try.A lot of us use FS Panel Studio(~$25) for quick creation/change in 2D and will read most gauge formats. It can modify an existing VC(within the model's limits) but can not create one.Learn the 2D first, then maybe we can help you get a handle on what can and can't be done with a virtual cockpit...Don
