Would anyone here happen to know why when I go to start my computer with TH2go connected to the USB it will not turn on. When I unplug it, the computer fires right up and I replug the USB and everything is fine?ThanksBryan B

Might be soaking up too much power vs what your PSU is putting out. I use mine with the electric plug it came with, no issues.

Do you hear any of the post beeps when computer comes on, or do the fans etc no even power up on the computer? If you Graphics card as more than one output, try plugging the DVI cable to the other one... try using a different USB socket, if you have ones on the front of case, or in a different place on the back to the ones near where you have your keyboard/mouse USB.is your motherboard ASUS by any chance?

Regards

The computer won't even power up with the USB plugged in. I have to unplug it to get the computer started. After the computer starts I can plug the TH2go USB back it and have no issues. There are no beeps and I've tried different ports.Could it be power supply issuei7 930 2.8ghzIntel P6TD x586gb corsairWin7 64bit650w psuBryan BIt did not come with a power cord. Bryan,I have the very same issue with my TH2GO config (Gigabyte motherboard I7 920 oc'd). I don't unplug but "de-power" the PC by power-switching it off after use. When switching it on again the PC boots after a short 1 sec "hiccup". I could get rid of the need to unplug the USB by updating my BIOS which included an improved USB power management. Pretty strange, but works for me.Kind Regards,Torsten

Maybe a usb-hub with external adapter could help?Wasn't there a pci-USB-card delivered with your motherboard or something?Best Regards,Bert Van Bulck

Just curious if you resolved this problem yet Bryan? The Triplehead2Go is a great thing but it seriously is lacking in the ease of setup category. It has it's quirks but I think this was one of the many issues I had originally but resolved it by setting it up correctly as a single monitor first, then let it do it's reboot, then modify a custom resolution via the nVidia control panel as mentioned here. You are right in the fact that it uses the usb power and the only thing on that I can recommend is not using front side usb hookups or additional usb cards for it. The main ones tied into the motherboard. If anything, move your mouse and keyboard to those or best alternative is like Bert said in using a powered usb hub.Matrox really should revise it's app also. I no longer use it for anything.Let me know any issues since I think if there was an issue to have with it, I had it haha.

Have you also upgraded your firmware for it?I echo dans comments reference USB port ussage, I have a ASUS motherboard, and my PC as 4 USB on front, a extension card which runs from motherboard output, then the main USB(keyboard etc) I find that sometimes when I plug a USB drive into different ports it doesnt always power up properly, plug it into a Hub or into one of the other ports and it works fine.So try putting the matrox into a different USB port, not just the one next to it but in a different location and see if that helps.Check your firmware is upto date, there been a few patches for it.Maybe worth looking to see also if your motherboard as a firmware upgrade to.

I sat down and did a fresh install of the TH2G. I set it up for two then added the third monitor and it does work fine now except when starting the computer. I did try using different ports and even using my 4 port powered hub. Still no luck in that area. I will eventually try and update the BIOS.Thanks for your input and help. Bryan Bernatek
