ExcBuilder, FSConnect.dll, FSSound.dll

Featured Replies

Here I am at five minutes before midnight, New Year's Eve (when I should be out having fun!) troubleshooting FS9 problems!! I hope someone can help. All began when I tried to run ExcBuilder - it said it had problems with FSConnect.dll. OK, a new installation and I'd forgotten to copy it from backup to the modules folder. Now when I start FS9 I get a message saying that it can't load FSSound.dll (will be deactivated), even though it was fine an hour ago - I still have the correct "Old Modules" lines in my fs9.cfg file. And now when I load the saved flight I was using before I added FSConnect.dll FS9 crashes - 'faulting module = terrain.dll. I've removed the FSConnect.dll file from the modules folder.Even with FSConnect.dll in the modules folder, I can't get ExcBuilder to work - same error message, "error communicating with FSConnect" - I tried right-clicking and running as administrator - same thing.Anyone any ideas? happy New Year to all - though FS9 crashing like this is not a good start to mine!!Martin

OK, all sorted (1.00 am) - apart from the ExcBuilder. I daren't put the FSConnect file back in my modules folder in case the same thing happens - as I said, simply removing it again didn't solve things last time.Maybe someone has some advice here - I used the Exclude Builder programme quite a lot. Is there another programme that does the same?M.

I still have ExcBuilder in my system here, but haven't used it in years. It is so much easier creating excludes with AFX or ADE9.John

I have those - never thought of using them! I just automatically reached for ExcBuilder, but as it seems to be having problems in Windows 7 x64 I shall have to change my habits! Thanks,M

:( Hi friends, join this discussion for similar needing (Windows7 and FS9)I'm trying to use ExcBuilder v.2 that seems to run, except the automatic localization and automatic bgl compilation; anyway, I'm writing manually the coordinates and, with the XLM obtained file, I have the bgl by running the "compile.bat" execution: the bgl is got but, when I put it in the scenery, the scenario still remain as previous.Just for better explanation, I report on the following the sintax, as :....................................................................................<?xml version="1.0"?><FSData version = "9.0" xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="bglcomp.xsd" > <ExclusionRectangle latitudeMinimum = "W60 24.3700" latitudeMaximum = "W60 24.9500" longitudeMinimum = "S34 36.0700" longitudeMaximum = "S34 36.7900" excludeBeaconObjects = "TRUE" excludeGenericBuildingObjects = "TRUE" excludeLibraryObjects = "TRUE"/></FSData>.................................................................................................:( Can somebody tell me the reason of fault and the solution way?thanks in advance
