"to pass on a few pointers "That's really a BROAD request. What, specificly are you looking for? jerrycwo4

And it would be much easier reading your request if you used punctuation and capital letters where appropriate.David

Python2: You are REALLY in the right place! I didn't know where to begin either and first landed on Yahoo!Groups, but quickly found myself here and at FlightSim.com.This is how I got started: Read some of the posts here. Do a Google Search and find a freebie called something like "The Beginner's Guide to Microsoft Flight Simulator" and download the latest PDF that deals in depth with FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2004 (NOT 'X' assuming you're going to be smart and stay with FS9!). I think it's even in the 'Miscellaneous" section of the Flight Simulator 2004 files section of the downloads area. Stay away from the payware guides for now. And seek out others with your specific area of interest, i.e. if it's military vs. commercial simming, General Aviation (small prop planes) vs. Jets, etc. and learn from them. There are many diverse communities right here at AVSIM alone. That will get you going with some modicum of realism. WELCOME TO A GREAT HOBBY! (jerryusg: I've never really known how to respond to these types of posts and Jerry, that's the best one I've ever read!)

Well you need to tell us what is your screen resolution for FS. Are you using Microsoft Flight Simulator?BE SPECIFIC.What OS are you using? If you really want to get the most of your scenery, post a screenshot where you think it is 'blotchy' or where you have 'issues'. We can help direct you, but you have to help yourself. Also, is this happening during flight?Where is this happening? What makes you think this is an issue in flight simulator that we might help you solve? What, when, how, where and why.

Python, go over to FSGenesis and get as much terrain mesh as you can afford. I'm talking the latest version. I believe it is 19 meter. That gives your terrain a more realistic look such as hills and valleys. Real Environment Pro is good for texture coloring. Real Environment Extreme is good for clouds, sunsets, sunrises, etc. These are some of the basic programs that many simmers use. This should get you started. There is a wealth of knowledge on this board. Hope this helps.
