January 8, 201115 yr Hi All...Can someone help me with an issue in FSX in terms of viewing the area of scenery directly below the plane and within a few miles of it being very different from the scenery furter away. I have some MegaEarth Scenery installed, and this happens outside of the MegaEarth areas. Specifially, since it is winter, the area under and around the plane seems to be snow covered, but a few miles away it is green (showing grass).. and then as I fly toward the grass, the snow panel increases and follows along... I am using W7 on a very fast computer, so I don't think that it is a hardware problem.. and am wondering if there is a visibility setting that I should change or something. Thanks in advance.Bob (New Orleans, LA)
January 8, 201115 yr Hello Bob,An image of just this scenery problem would help in understanding the problem.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
January 8, 201115 yr Author Yes. I should have though of that as my description was confusing... Hopefully you can see what I am talking about on these shots. See how the scenery panels near the aircraft are white and seeming snow covered, but in the distance it isn't. And then as you fly the white area moves with the flight.Help... and thanksBob
January 8, 201115 yr Author I cannot get the file to attach. Probably because it is too big.. 23.7 MB. How do I get it smaller MB to attach? Should I turn down all scenery and use only one monitor? Please let me know and thanksBob

January 8, 201115 yr Author How do I convert it to tga? Do I need special software? I was able to get it down to 3 MB, but still no luck..ThanksBob
January 15, 201115 yr Author I think that this picture shows the problem. Notice the huge difference in scenery near the aircraft and further away.ThanksBob
January 24, 201115 yr The box expands or follows as you fly along? Photo scenery in FSX will take priority over "regular" textures if it is of a high enough resolution. If the "box" is following you as you fly then that tells me that the outer areas are being rendered at such a low level that the default textures are then being processed. If you have the SDKs and they are installed, you could then use the TMFviewer to look at one of the photo scenery files and see at what LOD it is set to display the highest resolution.I would also wonder at what Texture Resolution you have set within FSX. One meter resolution would be an appropriate setting. And the photo scenery was made for FSX and not FS2004?
