AI at Heathrow

Featured Replies

Hi to all. I have alot of AI traffic and their all airlines that fly to and from heathrow. Now the takoff que is always huge and that side of the airport always busy. But there seems to be alot less arrivals. It can go 10 mins or so without a landing with maybe 10 or 11 takeoffs in that time. Hope use can help. Rob

AS I understand it, when you first start FS, all the AI that would have taken off about 10 minutes before you arrived, and after, will que up and take off. This makes it look like a lot of take offs, because it is. Arrivals, on the other hand, do not do this. This is true of all airports. try it at KJFK. Bob

i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.

AI can arrive in a clump as well. FS allows both incoming and departing AI to catch up.One way I deal with the heavy take-off queue as the clumped arrivals show up is to use the freeware utility AI Smooth version 1.20. This allows you to increase the separation of incoming AI by placing them in a holding pattern based in landing final separation you specify. It can make it possible for AI to take-off between landings on the same runway. The application is in the FSX utilities section in the library here but version 1.2 works in both FS versions. It requires FSUIPC and will register it self so you need not require a paid registration. See the installation notes regarding FSUIPC.Here's some information on obtaining and updating FSUIPC:-----------------------Get the base FSUIPC version from:http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmland then interim update from the modules link on this page:http://forum.simflight.com/forum/142-download-links/FSUIPC now self installs initially based on your registry entry for your FS path. Check that with this free utility:FSX/FS9 Registry Repair Tool (36KB) from http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library
