Hi DaiFortunately, I could setup mi IDE.Having done the steps as they are Bill's post and doing a little tweak, changing the "Character Set" in Multibyte mode ( It was in Unicode mode by default ) , after that, my MSVC started to compile.Thank you for your good will.Martin

Somewhere among the posts at that forum is the mention that one must switch OFF Unicode... :(

I must include that in sd2gau. My MSDN subscription was finally renewed this week and I've just installed VS2010 with the intention of getting to the bottom of this, but I'm really pleased to see you got there before me. When you tried the compiled gauges, did it give you a blackscreen followed by a GPF, or did it simply not work?-Dai

Hi Dai:I don't remember if there was a blackscreen but it didn't work in FSX, and FS9 appeared a message saying:"Flight Simulator was unable to load some aircraft or software. You can continue using Flight Simulator but this aircraft or software will be disabledFile: GAUGES\dfdsnd.gau"In FSpanel Studio I could see the three squares (red yellow and green), and two subgauges.Martin

Thanks Martin. I must rewrite it to throw some form of meaningful error message in the case where it gets through to FS but for some reason doesn't work. I have no idea why your FS installations are objecting; I've just reinstalled a clean FS9 and everything appeared to be okay (after I'd fixed the blackscreen caused by missing soundfiles...).I also think I need to specify the lowest compatible version of DirectX.-Dai
