January 16, 201115 yr Hello Folks:I'm not too sure if this is the correct forum to post this in, but since it is about an FSX airliner, I have posted it here. I wanted to let others know of my experience, once bitten, twice shy. I have been a big fan of Avsim since its inception, and use its services daily. As it is a top notch organization, and after reading very positive reviews here for the Simcheck A300, I decided to buy it, and since the Avsim Store had it on sale, I felt I should purchase it here. What an amazing airliner. It quickly became my favorite plane. I was anxiously awaiting the release of SP2, which was released Friday Jan 14 by Simcheck, The update is a complete re-install which according to Simcheck's website must be downloaded from the original download site, in my case the Avsim Store. There does not seem to be anywhere on the Avsim Store site to download this update. Over 36 hours ago, I sent a message to [email protected], (which is the address given on Avsim Store's customer service webpage) asking how to get the update. I have yet to hear back from Avsim Store in that 36 hours.I have been in contact with Simcheck, and I am hopeful to get this resolved soon with some help from Aerosoft. I still don't have the update.I will certainly be leery of purchasing from the Avsim Store in the future with service such as this. - Roger NevesI would have been much better off paying the full price and downloading from Aerosoft directly. At least I would have my update. I will definitely be leery of purchasing
January 16, 201115 yr While I understand your disappointment, I don't think I would consider 36 hours "very poor service". AVSIM is an international organization and you're reply may come from someone in another time zone or country. Also, it is a holiday weekend and many places are closed for a three day holiday. I've purchased from AVSIM previously and have only good service. Hopefully an official of AVSIM will pick up on this and give you an official answer. Best wishes. January 16, 201115 yr Author Thanks for your concern. I guess it might help too explain why I thought it was very poor service and now would rather have paid the extra and purchased elsewhere. Had I purchased from the main distributor, I would already be flying the upgrade as of app 48 hours past. As far as a response from the Avsim Store, one would have thought that there would have been at least some automated response advising of the unavailability of service. In this day and age most inquires to other large websites such as Avsim get answered in minutes to hours, I am now going on 40 hours. Am I disappointed? Yes.Would I purchase another item from Avsim Store? I don't know for certain, but as of right now, probably not, because had I known this was going to occur, I would, as mentioned, purchased direct for the higher price. I don't think I would chance purchasing from them again. I sure hope I find out something though. - Roger
