  1. Well, according to the article, the autopilot was turned on at 410 feet (I presume that means AGL). So that would be very close to +ve rate, gear up, click The SID must have been programmed in, which is why the AP was turned on, so it wasn;t going to be hand flown. - Roger Neves
  2. Hey Jim: I created a folder on my "C" drive, called it "games", and had steam install FSX in it. I agree with the previous poster, DX10 fixer works perfectly and so does inspector. - Roger Neves
  3. Did you submit a trouble ticket? The one time I did, it was promptly looked after - Roger
  4. Hi Ben: There's not a lot to go on here, but one thing that comes to mind is permissions. Where did you install the sim? If it was in "program files" this could be the problem. It is known to cause permission issues. Try installing it in another location. Before installing it, do a check of your registry and ensure there are no entries of your previous installations left behind. If this fails, I would submit a ticket to Steam. - Roger
  5. Hey Charles: The QW 146 package works perfectly in Steam with Windows 10. I also went with DX10, and a 64 bit system, and the results are amazing. Even with my lowly rig, 3.4 quad and nvidia GTX560, I can (and do) run with all sliders maxed. - Roger
  6. Hey Chris: Re the "Flaps" sounding, ensure you have the "GPWS Landing Flap" switch (below thwe landing gear lever) is selected to the proper setting. Re the tuning of the radios. Ensure you keep the SBY Com (in front of the throttles) off at all times. If I''m not mistaken, it overrides the two ARCDU's, (radio panels). Hope this helps, Roger Neves
  7. Hello Jeff: I don't know what has happened, but UT works fine with Steam on my rig. Keep digging, there's got to be an answer. Did you submit a ticket? - Roger
  8. Hello Andrew: Unless something has changed, no you don't have to purchase FSUIPC. As freeware, it will do all the basic functions that those add-ons require If you want to unlock all the functions of FSUIPC, then you need to purchase it. It isn't very expensive though, and it is a very handy program. - Roger
  9. That's unfortunate. Personally, I've found just the opposite. Anytime I've had a problem, they have been very helpful. It is the main reason why I feel confident buying from them. I hopoe you get this straightened up. - Roger
  10. Hello Denco: I know you mentioned you followed the guide, but did you also press "autoflight" prior to advancing the throttles? It does need to be pressed two times. One as I mentioned, the second as you did. I use radar contact but I don't believe the stock ATC will let you enter a star at that time. You can however manually enter the ILS frequency and course on the "nav radio" page accesible from the FMC pushbuttons at any time. You cannot check on the fuel and PAX, but you can use the Load Manager to send a load & fuel to FSX at any time. When you call up the Load Manager, there should be three click spots on the right hand end "Send to FSX", "Save to File" and "Close". Select a payload and fuel then click "Send to FSX". The MD-11 must be running on FSX to do this. If you do not have the three click spots and are missing "Send to FSX", you need to change the name of the air file from "MD-11.air" to "MD-11.AIR" in both PAX and Freighter versions. - Roger
  11. Riccardo: Have you removed all the FSX axis from "Controls" in FSX. There may be a conflict there. - Roger
  12. I had installed the MD-11 on a dual install, and it worked fine. The only issue I had was the load manager, and there is a fix for that in that forum. Roger Neves
  13. Steam updates do not require re-installing any 3rd party addons. I made the switch 6 months ago from boxed. It;s quite nice. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and Steve's DX-10 fixer. Side by side installations of Steam and FSX create some issues, but these can all be worked out (at least for me) with some research.
  14. As well, the Feelthere ERJ 135 145 are not too bad either. It was a shame about their CRJ as was no where near as godd as these.
  15. Hi Riccardo: I have made several flights and have not had any issues. - Roger
  16. Yes, that is correct, no other patches needed. - Roger
  17. Hello Riccardo: I used installer 4.6 to install Captain Sim's 757 into Steam, no issues at all. - Roger
  18. Perfect!! Thanks charliearon, that indeed was the answer. Somehow the FXAA Indicator was turned on. Turning it off solved the issue. Thanks for your help - Roger
  19. Hi Folks: As a recent convert to Steam ( which I do really like by the way), one thing I have noticed is a little green square box, about the size of an icon, in the top left hand corner of the screen . It is also on any other window I open, or the kneeboard etc. What is this little green box, and is there a way to get rid of it? - Roger
  20. Hello SC1: Bert is Bert Pieke. Probably the best idea to get these mods is to PM him. - Roger
  21. Hello Folks: Looks like mission accomplished. Thanks to Jim Young for the idea and Jim F for supplying the replacement file. I've been able to complete my first flight in several weeks in the northern hemisphere with no stutters of any kind!!! Thanks again folks, you're fantastic! - Roger
  22. Hi Jim: Thanks so much for this. I was one of the luckier ones, I didn't have any issues for many years running FSX. A few weeks ago, I had a power failure while I was using FSX during one of our nastier storms, and when I restarted the computer after power was restored, scan disc reported several issues - some of which I noted were FSX issues. Shortly after that, I noticed I've had severe stutters - in certain geographical areas. I deleted scenery entries -no luck, changed config files, went back to older video card drivers and tried everything I could think of to narrow the cause of the issue. No luck. Researching in the Avsim forums, I found an older post from Jim Young which recommended using "procmon" to narrow the scope of the problem (Thanks so much Jim !!!). I used "procmon" to see what errors were occurring when the severe stutters occurred. This file was one of the error entries which was logged at that time frame, When I went to look it up in my FSX files, the file was there, but I could not get "DXTBmp" to open it (DXTBmp froze trying to open the file, but it would open the surrounding files with no problems). So I'm hoping this is a step towards the cure. - Roger
  23. Thanks Joe, I'll give that a try. - Roger
  24. Oh Wow. If that is the case, does anyone have a copy of this they would like to donate? It is Scenery\World\texture\007B2HW3
  25. Hi Folks: As a result of a recent power failure, several files on my hard drive were damaged. One of these was an FSX texture file. It is Scenery\World\texture\007B2HW3. I have both installation discs of FSX Deluxe. Does anyone know where on these discs this might be located? It would be nice if I could extract it and replace it without having to repair or re-install FSX. - Roger
