January 26, 201115 yr Has anyone tried process lasso from www.bitsum.com ?It looks like you can configure different processes to get different prioritys sort of on-the-fly ..Just wondering.. I just saw it from a giveaway of the Day offer and missed the install window...
January 27, 201115 yr Author I've never been a big fan of these kinds of apps... I don't really see a big picture benefit... at least no different then simply shutting down unneeded processes and applications.... So YMMV it may make things better for some and not so much for others.
January 27, 201115 yr No, TA is not like Game Booster or other shut down software. This assigns programs(.exe) to run on different cores. If you have a bunch of things all running on core 0 along with most of FSX, TA can set the processor affinity to take some of that stress off of core 0.If you really weren't interested, why did you even ask?
January 27, 201115 yr Author I was interested.. and since I had never heard of the product I asked about it here...I used it and found that the performance change for me was negligable but it may work better for others.
January 27, 201115 yr Thanks for the heads-up. Well, I think I do see benefit from running TrackIR at HIGH process priority, and FSX at ABOVE normal. TrackIR panning then seems smoother. I run FSX on both of my dual cores, everything else on one.Best wishes,GD
January 27, 201115 yr All,TA does not set the priority higher, only moves .exes to different cores.Apologies, quite right. I do that in Task Manager, I've qualified my post.GD.Thanks for the heads-up. Well, I think I do see benefit from running TrackIR at HIGH process priority, and FSX at ABOVE normal. TaskAssign is very simple to use for affinity, with a small resources footprint.
