Thrustmaster F22 CC problem

Featured Replies

I have a TM F22, F16 TQS, and RCS set up . After a long layoff I have got back into flying sims. Everything has gone well with connecting the stick and throttle to a Pentium D - 3.4 GHz, Windows XP system. It was difficult to to find the TM F22 command center but I was finally able to find two version - 1.09 and 1.63. Also my PC did not have a PS2 connection so I used a PS2 to USB adapter.I am able to use Windows XP's game controller utility to configure the stick and throttle, but when I try to either clear the memory or download a new template to the stick the command center crashes. It also crashes when I try to calibrate the stick in the command center.Otherwise the stick and throttle works well in Free Falcon 5.5.Does anyone have any suggestions? I wonder if the P2 to USB adapter is at issue. Too fast???Anyone still using the F22/TQS combo. I kind of don't want to purchase Warthog at over $300.Thanks, Blain

Try Foxy software (FoxTwo2_3.exe) by Dr. James "Nutty" Hallows.http://www.flyfoxy.com/ThrustmasterFAQ.htmlhttp://www.flyfoxy.com/foxysplash.htmlhttp://www.flyfoxy.com/introduction.htmlIf necessary I can email it to you.I have F16/TQS hotas with many extra parts and spare stick for parts.

Crash,Thanks for you suggestion. I took a look at the foxy utility but I believe the 2.5 version still requires a working F22 command center to download and clear the stick. My set up does not include the digital upgrades. I am thinking my options are limited. I either need a PS2 connection on the motherboard or my gameport in my soundblaster live card is not cutting it. I should not have gotten rid of my TM gamecard...Another thing I might try is that the SB live gameport do not have the correct values in the resources tab. I do not see a way to change it in XP...Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks,Blain

PM'd you!!

Hi B2Blain,You do need a PS2 keyboard or one of the old AT units with the larger plug. You can get an adapter, but it's better if you plug a short PS2 extension cable into the PC and then put the adapter at the end and plug a full-size AT cable into that. It keeps the connector and adapter from stickout out so far behind the PC.You also need to boot to DOS. DOS boot disk or a DOS partition. The DOS versions that support W95 and W98 will work, too, but those are kind of rare anymore. The SB port should work okay, but keyboard ports aren't what they used to be, so you may have some problems there. You don't need the whole Control Center with Foxy. You only need the F22Load.exe file, and probably F22Cal to calibrate the stick. If you get an error when you try to start it, A runtime error, I can't recall the ID offhand, but the program stopped working when PCs hit about 233 mHz. If you need one, you can email me:Bob (at) stickworks (dot) comand I can send it along.Best regards,- BobThe StickWorkshttp://www.stickwork.com
