Change the Panel Positions?

Featured Replies

Hello there,I was wondering if it's possible to alter the predefined positions of the FS2Crew panels as they appear on the screen? For example, if I open a default flight, switching over from the default Cessna to the iFly and then open the FS2Crew main panel it will appear smack bang in the middle of my cockpit on Monitor 1.I have had some success with using a saved flight which will store panel positions such as a pop-up for the iFly (Captain's CDU) on a particular monitor but I'm having trouble getting the FS2Crew panels to behave the same way. It would appear that they are not "linked" to either the iFly aircraft that is loaded into the saved flight or the saved flight configuration file itself.I can see the panel I have configured so far and the "ScreenUniCoords" which is most helpful, but I don't think my FS2Crew panels are stored the same way in the configuration as when I re-open my saved flight the FS2Crew Main panel will poen in the "traditional" place on the cockpit monitor.Am I way off here or is it indeed possible to "tweak" the positions of the various panels? My "Breifing" panel for example is too low on the screen for my resolution by default so I'd like to move it higher and so forth.Does anybody have any thoughts or experience on this front? Thanks very much.Kind regards,James Gillies

Hi James,Yes, you can very easily redefine the default S2Crew panel position.Pls do this:1. Open the Panel.Cfg file(s) for the selected model for the iFly 737, and bear in mind the Widescreen and Normal versions each have their own panel.cfgs, too.2. Change the "position = XX" value found for each FS2Crew window (they're located at the bottom of the panel.cfg).Example:[Window26]size_mm=330, 681pixel_size=330, 681position=6visible=0ident=1005zorder=104gauge00=FS2Crew2010\Versions\IFly737\Gauges\FS2CrewIFly737!FS2Crew_BriefPanel, 0,0,330,681Position 0 is the top left part of the screen, 1 is top middle, 2 is top right, 3 is left middle, 4 is middle middle, 5 is right middle, 6 is bottom left and so on.So just change position = 6 to whatever desired value you want.Very simple.Cheers,

Hello Bryan,Thanks very much for your quick response (and on a Sunday afternoon too!)I know that this is going to sound a little "have my cake and eat it" but I loked at this yesterday for the built-in iFly panels as I was looking for something a little more granular that the standard 8 positions. After experimenting yesterday I was able to create (with JPs advice) a saved flight (with the normal precautions) that had a couple of pop-up panels undocked and moved to separate monitors. Rather cleverly the saved flight configuration file contains details of the exact panel positions and sizes - perfect for what I am trying to achieve, although I'd like to do the same with the FS2Crew panels if possible. For example heres the bit for (what I *think* is) the Captain's CDU panel:[Panel.9]ScreenUniCoords=3626, 561, 1617, 3384UndocCoords=-2424, 20, 646, 940Visible=TrueUndocked=TrueHiddenOn=FalseID=10185ViewsOn=1It's not immediately clear if the FSCrew panels are saved to the .flt files as well - this is where I was expecting to be able to make the tweak. Would you know if a saved flight configuration should store the FS2Crew panel details? Thanks very much indeed Bryan, and may I say how impressed I am with your product, I've actually started grinning during my pre-flight!Kind regards,James Gillies

Hi James,Glad you're liking the product. As far as I know, the physical position of FS2Crew panels are not saved in flight files. But don't hold me 100 percent to that. Changing the Position in the Panel.CFG file is the safest way.I personally don't recommend using 'saved situation files'... they came something cause issues with 3rd party addons.Best,
