February 2, 201115 yr An ongoing issue for me is where I am parked on the ground at an airport that is also a wxr reporting station, yet ASE does not reproduce the reported weather, rather it goes to adv interpolation.CYYZ 021836Z 17212KT 1/2SM OVC007 +SN M09/M13 Q1007 RMK ADVANCED INTERPOLATIONCYYZ 021738Z 0218/0324 02012KT 11/2SM -SN OVC008 TEMPO 0218/0222 3SM -SN OVC020 PROB30 0218/0220 3/4SM -SN VV007 FM022200 36012G22KT P6SM OVC025 TEMPO 0222/0302 5SM -SN OVC020 FM030300 34012KT P6SM BKN040 TEMPO 0303/0305 BKN020 FM030800 30008KT P6SM SKC BECMG 0315/0317 24015G25KT BECMG 0322/0324 24012KTI see this happening intermittently for several months now, lately it is more frequent. Sometimes ASE gets the actual reported wxr, other times it does not. The winds right now at CYYZ are not even close to the adv interpolation. Had the same problem last night at KORD, KGRR, CYUL...all wxr reporting stations yet ASE inputs adv interpol wxr. There seems to be something wrong. Also noticing the primary server is not being used, in most cases ASE is using the secondary server. Maybe related? Please help. System specs: Dual core E6300 (1.86g X 2), 2gb RAM, nvidea7800GT, Saitek yoke, CH throttle (6 lever), Soundblaster live.Add-ons: FSX: LDS767, FSL Concorde, FT E175/195, PMDG 747X/737X, Active Sky E, some freeware airports.Human specs: Desktop simulation since FS1, beta tester (LDS, FSL), 737NG simulator tech (Threshold Aviation), r sole+.
February 2, 201115 yr Author Further testing reveals...I restarted ASE on the ground at CYYZ, set a plan for CYYZ-CYOW and bingo, ASE showing actual METAR not interpolated for both origin and destination. I take off, get to CRZ ALT, ASE refreshes the weather, the CYOW DEST weather and CYYZ origin weather on the briefing page now shows ADV Interpolation for both...which is way off from the reported METAR for both airports. It's making me nuts :-)Thanks. February 3, 201115 yr Hi,Were you aware that KORD was shut down last night and so probably wasn't reporting any weather at all? It is active as I make this post.CYYZ is active from the secondary server right now.KGRR is active from the secondary server right now. They also could have been closed down last night. If the data is older then ASE automatically switches to ADV INT. and in times of winter storms this can happen. Stations close down, equipment goes out, data doesn't get reported etc. Please make sure that ASE is set to Force to Real Time and that your computer clock is correct.

When I departed CYYZ around 5pm EST, I was showing real METAR for CYYZ and CYOW, no interpolation. During the 30 minute flight, I refreshed the Briefing page and noted both origin airport CYYZ and DESTination airport CYOW had reveted to Adv Interpolation which was way off from the actual reported METAR from both airports. Also I noted ASE was showing METAR d/loaded form the secondary server. I landed at CYOW 30 mins later with ADV Interpolated winds. After touchdown, I parked, shut down and restarted ASE with FSX still running, re-entered the route CYYZ-CYOW in the briefing page, the weather was no longer ADV interpolated. I got back in the air again and circled CYOW for 5 mins, checked the weather in ASE for CYOW...again ADV Interpolation has returned. I checked on the live METAR from the airport, the METAR real world is current. Again in this case, METAR coming from the secondary server.I can't help but think something is wacky here. We have valid and up to date METAR for both origin and destination, yet shortly after I get airborn, ASE reverts to ADV interpolation with METAR data from the secondary server. Also, how old is too old for the ASE to switch from the reported METAR to Adv Interpolation? Is there an option to increase the 'time limit' on this. I would rather use 'old' METAR than the Adv Interpolation for landing in most cases. Perhaps there might be an option or config file change I can make to force reported METAR or inhibit Adv Interpolation when below a certain altitude? Thanks again for looking into this.Rob.PS - I always use DWC on, real time, registered FSUIPC, allow changes to FSX own weather = yes. I can not say when it was, but within the last week.
February 6, 201115 yr Hi,Please note that we have made some changes and things should be better now. Please re-post if they are not.
