February 3, 201115 yr Hello,I have tried to make a livery for the PMDG MD-11 with the Paint-kit, but the textures seem to stay with PMDG colours applied. Is there any way to make the paint-kit white? I use GIMP, and I also cannot create markings on GIMP. I can select the tools, but I cannot draw or write on the fuselage. Is there any solution for these problems? Thanks, Kevin L
February 3, 201115 yr Hi Kevin,I'm not familiar with the MD-11 paintkit, but the apporoach is pretty standard. In Gimp, you'll need to access the various layers of the paintkit. One of those layers (or more) will control the PMDG titling etc. You'll need to either make this layer "invisible" by de-activating that layer or deleting that specific layer for it not to show. To add some paint, the best way is to create a new layer and apply the new paint there so you have control over what you add and nothing else in the paint kit. If you can't add any paint, I would recommend you start of with opeining a new file in Gimp and just try messing around with the various paint options so you can see the results. In other words don't worry about the layers but ensure you know how each of the main Gimp functions work. Once you're comfortable with this, you can then perform similar activities in the paint kit file wiithin the newly create layers I mentioned above. BTW - If you're new to painting ( I don't know) I would also recommend you look at the Paint Tutorial Turbine777 has written which should be a pinned topic in the PMDG General Forum.Hope this helps you out. If not, post back and let us know where you're getting stuck.RegardsMark SpoilerSystem specs: MFG Crosswind pedals| ACE B747 yoke |Honeycomb Bravo throttleNow built: P3Dv5.3HF2: Intel i5-12600K @4.8Ghz | MSI Z690-A PRO | Asus Dual RTX 4070 Super OC 12Gb| 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200Mhz |Samsung 980Evo Pro PCIe 500Gb | WD Black SN850 PCIe 2Tb | WD SA510 4Tb |beQuiet 802 Tower Case|Corsair RM850 PSU | Acer Predator X34P 3440x1440pMark AldridgeMSFS2024 SU5 & P3D v5.3 HF2
