February 6, 201115 yr Have got what seems to be a stable overclock of my SandyBridge at 4.8 GHZ with an ASUS P67 Sabertooth. Was just wondering if I should have the speedstep setting active. Just built the system for FSX and wasn't sure if performance would fluctuate if the chip isn't at a constant speed all of the time.ThanksSteve G Steve Giblin

I believe it allows the CPU throttle back at low load. If you use Offset Voltage rather than a fixed voltage as well then you are not continually exposing the chip to high volts. Mine runs at 0.985 volts and 1600Mhz most of the time. 4.8 at full load. Regards Howard H D Isaacs
