February 7, 201115 yr When viewing airport buildings from the runway some look like the leaning tower of Pisa. Is there a setting in config about wide screens or something ?Thanks for any suggestions.FSX + acceleration +SP2 +UTX and GEX EuropeDell XPS 420 Nvidia GT 8800 1440 x 900 FSX + Acceleration + UTX Eu v1.4 + GEX Eu v2 Dell XPS 420 Nvidia 8800GT We're all so headstrong - Feeling awe and wonder is the answer.
February 8, 201115 yr under your [Display] section of fsx.cfg make sure you haveWideViewAspect=TrueIf you're using a widescreen monitor. Also check your zoom. If you zoom out real far you do get a fish-eye effect Drew Sikora Staff Blog Founder/Designer, MSE Airports
February 14, 201115 yr Author Thanks GaiidenI have the cfg setting as 'true' but like to have zoom at 30% in order to have a good view outside and I move the eye location up to the instruments enough to see the detail of the gauges. You're right it does have a fishbowl effect even at 50%. What is your zoom level and is there an optimum? After all we are all sitting in front of flat screen monitors. February 15, 201115 yr I fly all aircraft at .70 zoom. The only time I need to deviate from this is helicopters - I zoom out to around .40 in order to get a proper perspective to gauge my hover. Drew Sikora Staff Blog Founder/Designer, MSE Airports
February 15, 201115 yr Hello:For a comparison of views achieved using the default FS camera "zoom" view controls <CTRL'+'> or <CTRL'-'> see this thread:http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?16363-DistortionFYI: One can also tap <Backspace> to quickly reset one's FS view to "default". :( Hope this helps ! :( GaryGB
