February 12, 201115 yr I wanted to let you know I have just taken delivery of the PMDG branded NGX Flight Crew Operations Manual and Flight Crew Training Manual, and I intend to do some deep studying of the systems in preparation for the PMDG NGX. I am currently studing the normal procedures for startup and takeoff/climb/cruise, and have noticed the inclusion of separate instructions tailored for specific options in regards to the revision of the FMC (U10.7 and older, or U10.8 and later). Knowing that the PMDG bird is going to have a myriad of customer specific options for systems displays, visual cosmetics like winglets or eyebrow windows, and even the availability of a short-field runway package, will the NGX also model the difference between the 10.7 AND 10.8 FMCs? If so, that leads me to a few questions as they relate to what I am reading in the FCOM:1. I am almost certain the NGX will have this option since the MD-11 did........can we select the grade of jet fuel/ is fuel freezing modeled?2. Is the auto T/O thrust reduction (which can be used with either of the FMCs) modeled, where the user can choose to enable/disable that function in PMDG options? 3. Will auto ignition be modeled? How about Master Caution System Logic Change and Automatic Shutoff for the center fuel tanks? Having the option of the FMC, in conjunction with pre-arming VNAV on the ground, automatically capture the acceleration altitude is a welcome change from previous incarnations of the NGX in flight simulator, when I had to manually select VNAV to enable 2nd segment climb only after climbing through 800ft or the airfield's flap retraction altitude. I welcome this improved automation, it will make the climb out during high workload scenarios so much more manageable!Since these very detailed procedures (which are dependent on having the systems options installed on the aircraft) are included in the manual, can we expect to see them modeled so that we can follow along with this real life manual verbatim? I'm assuming that the level of systems fidelity of the NGX will vary very little from its real life counterpart, and if something is not going to be modeled in the NGX it would have been excluded in these manuals. Does this sound about right? A.J. Domingo
February 12, 201115 yr Commercial Member A.J.We're still in the middle of development, I can't say for sure on the options you're asking about yet. I will say that we are NOT modelling every possible option that can exist on the airplane - everyone would be waiting for another year for release if we did that. Perhaps we'll add more later in the service packs, but as always, I can't guarantee anything. Nothing was excluded or stripped from the manuals - they're verbatim what Boeing publishes. (which is really the way you want it in case there are things that don't get added until later after release) Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
February 12, 201115 yr Author Thanks for the reply, I understand completely. I am happy to hear about the possibility of adding features in service packs, the last thing I would want is to hold up the release. A.J. Domingo

February 12, 201115 yr @PMDG . . ? Can you say what is causing the delay of the NGX?All they lack is finishing it. If you'll recall they decided to add several major cutting-edge features a while back & doing so cause them to have to 'fix' other parts of the aircraft. I'm sure it's probably at the point where most major work is done & it's mainly tweaking/adjusting to make it all seamless. As far as I'm concerned, every extra day it takes makes the plane that much better. They've got the right idea not releasing until it's as close to perfect as possible. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64

From previous post, I thought they said they we're doing something in regards to the final touches. (late alpha - -preparing for beta) [Note: I could have mis read the information.]And now to see the last post from TABS saying their in the middle of development. Regards, Signed: Derricko Augustus
February 12, 201115 yr Yeah, but we can't read too much into what is said. By that Tabs may have just meant 'not finished' Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
February 13, 201115 yr Commercial Member That was just a figure of speech guys... "I'm in the middle of something" doesn't literally mean "the halfway point" of doing it. We are definitely past the halfway point lol... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
