Using MS2002 Add-ons(aircrf/scen_etc) in MS09

Hello;Since this is my first visit here, hello all!I like the look of your site.I read somewhere but cannot trace the source that one has to have the MSFS2002 program installed, to be able to directly transferany 2002 addons you might have and want to run in the 2004 version. If not, the article noted you cannot install any previous, i.e. 2002 addons,by direct installation from off the WinXP C: drive.Would you please confirm this so to help me decide the best route.Thank you,CWA....

Welcome, no idea that it was possible to run 02 stuff in 04, but just wanted to welcome you :(

No, that isn't so.But there is no guarantee that an FS2002 add-on will work properly. For instance, sceneries will not unless you obtain or create an Airport & Facilities Data file because they are quite different between the two versions. Also, some add-ons promoted as FS2002 are really FS2000 that run OK in FS2002, but you will find, for instance, that aircraft have no propellers of undercarriage. You really just need to try things and see.John
