Starting RC4.3 Stops the Flight in FSX

Featured Replies

Hi,When I start FSX, load my flight plan and click fly now, everything is Ok. However, when I start RC, load same .Pln, click start, in FSX the plane sinks into the ground, it then pops back to the surface and the engine is stopped. It cannot be restarted. After about 30 seconds, the screen comes on offering me to quit the flight. This happens for any planes, at any gates and any .pln,s. I can't create a log file about the flight because the flight is stopped at the gate. I have had to reinstall FSX because it stopped loading. However, after reinstallation, I still have the same problem when starting RC4.3. Ironically, RC4.3 is working just fine with FS2004 on the same computer.Has anyone else ever heard of this problem? Thanks for any suggestions.Dennis

First you need to insure that FSUIPC4 and makerwys.exe is updated beyond the versions that the installer put in.------------------------Get the base FSUIPC version from:http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmland then interim update from the modules link on this page:http://forum.simflight.com/forum/142-download-links/From that download link page under the Additional Programs link get the latest makerwys.exeFSUIPC now self installs initially based on your registry entry for your FS path. Check that with this free utility:FSX/FS9 Registry Repair Tool (36KB) from http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=libraryAfter getting FSUIPC installed and then makerwys.exe installed in your FS folder start RC and rebuild the scenery database. If you have both an FSX and FS9 installation two RC4 folders were created. Be sure you have two shortcuts for each RC version to its respective folder for each FS version. (VISTA and Win 7 users will want for each shortcut set its advanced properties to run as admin.) Rebuild from within each RC version the scenery database.---------------------------The last time I saw this problem RC shortcut was set to start from the incorrect folder for the version of FS being used. The result is RC moved the aircraft to the wrong position and also the wrong scenery data was being used. Also make sure for each scenery rebuild the correct path is input each time for the specific FS version.I don't know about the FS crash but it sounds like scenery data is out of sync with RC so see if the suggestions above help. Also, always test with a default aircraft at a default airport (where no add-on has been installed) in case it is an aircraft or scenery problem. Now, before you click the start button in RC you can click the debug button top create a log. Also insure FS is running with your aircraft at the gate before clicking the RC Start button.Another user had a problem because he loaded a flightplan that started from an airport different then the airport loaded in FS. A faulty flight plan can create a similar problem.Reply with your results and we'll follow up if not solved.

did you rebuild rc scenery database by starting the rcv4 for fs9, and then doing it again by starting the rcv4 for fsx?jd

I got a PM stating issue is resolved with FSUIPC and makerwys updates with a scenery database rebuild.
