A kind soul helping me with FPS limiter and Bojotes tweaking?

Featured Replies

Sorry for writing this long and boring text but I desperately need help with FSX that I am trying to at lest START migrating to from FS9.I have just formatted my drive, installed all the drivers and then everything FS9 related. I then installed FSX with the two patches and finally one Carenado plane for testing.I've tried switching to FSX many times but I've never been satisifed with the results, especially compared to the perfomance I get with FS9. When I found Bojotes tweaking tool I figured I was saved, but I did get some very fluctuating fps. Starting off with the default scenario with the ultralight, I would have over 100fps that would constantly dip to about 20 every other second. While 20 fps still sounds high I caused some very frustrating stutter. Using the internal fps limiter didn't really improve things and everything was actually smoother running the default CFG as compared to the one enhanced by Bojotes tool.I now read about the external fps limiter and downloaded/installed the fps_limiter_0.2 as well as the new "antilag". With antilag, when I start FSX in full screen mode the display is black although the plane judging by the sound and reaction to throttle, is flying. If I switch to windowed mode, the window fills about half of my 1920x1200 screen and I do get the 30fps I set in antilag.cfg and it looks totally stutter free and smooth as butter. If I maximize the window (not alt+enter) the fps drops to half, 15 fps. "unmaximazing" gets me back to 30 fps and alt+enter gives me the black screen. If I set 60 fps in the cfg file, I get 30 fps in maximized window. If I pull the corner of the window to make it bigger, the fps drops correspondingly. Oh, are you still awake? :DSo I tried the fps_limiter_0.2 with fps 30. There I can run in full screen mode (alt+enter) but also there I get only 15 fps (the internal fps limiter is set to unlimited), going to windows mode gives me 30 VERY smoooth fps but again, maximizing the window halves the fps. I could of course run FSX with fps_limiter_0.2 in full screen and only get half the fps of what I have configured but the total smootness I saw running in "half windows" mode is what I really want. Otherwise I might as well continue with FS9 although the PMDG 737 is upcoming. But what might cause the fact that I only get half the fps of what I configured? I have an ATI 5870 video card running Catalyst 10.11 on Windows 7 64 bit. Any ideas would be very helpful! It feels like I am quite close, but something tine is still messed up!Edit: I also tried reverting to the original fsx.cfg and running fps_limiter_0.2 but the effect would be the same.

Hi,Send me the link to the online backup of your fsx.cfg. Please, send it via private message so I get notified when you send it. I'll take a look at it and if I see something odd I'll try to help you but no promises.
