February 22, 201115 yr Hi, today I registered and before I read the terms and conditions. I stumbled over that part:All material posted in or on AVSIM acquires an AVSIM Copyright. Material found in the forums CANNOT be reproduced, copied or otherwise used without AVSIM's specific permission to do so. Please do NOT copy message content and post elsewhere. Ok so far if pictures and material from other users is involved. But what about my pictures and the content that I have posted? Does that mean that Avsim gets the copyright and I'm not able to use my material anymore? Imagine I put a picture with my copyright on my website but I've posted this picture at Avsim before. Copyright trouble because suddenly Avsim has the copyright? I really hope it is not the case.

February 25, 201115 yr Oh mgh!! Where are you? Don't worry he'll be around soon.Welcome to the forum's.Here I am! The key words in AVSIM's Terms of Use are: By submitting material to any public area of the System, User automatically grants, or warrants that the owner of such material has expressly granted AVSIM Online the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate and distribute such material (in whole or in part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media or technology now known or hereafter developed for the full term of any copyright that may exist in such material except the direct commercial sale of such material as the part of a CD or other file transfer medium is not permitted without the written permission of the holder of the copyright for said material. User also permits any other User to access, view, store or reproduce the material for that User's personal use. This means you retain your copyright but have given AVSIM a licence to use it. AVSIM needs this so that it can take action against anyone who reproduces, copies or otherwise uses material posted on the site. Gerry Howard
