Where is my tail?

After a recent re-install of FSX all of my aircraft appear to be fine apart from my T45 Goshawk which looks like this...I've tried deleting the plane and reinstalling it again several times but to no avail. Needless to say it was OK prior to re-installing FSX.Any ideas?Mike

I would assume you're running Win7, so go to the \Users\yourname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FSX\ folder, and delete the two 'Shaders' folders inside it.

I did that and now ALL textures from ALL aircraft apart from glass have disappeared :(Over to you Paul......Mike

Did you add the bufferpool tweak to your FSX cfg file?If so you should delete the bufferpool section or decrease the poolsize value until your textures return.The buffer pool section should look something like this:[bufferPools] UsePools=0 RejectThreshold=102400 PoolSize=2097152

Have you been experimenting with Bojote's Shader3 modifications at all, Mike? I think Artur was referring to a backup of the Shader folder when he was talking about 'backup'. This 'messed-up' aircraft parts is the same symptom that comes about when the files in the \%FSX_Root%\ShadersHLSL\ folder get corrupted or are out of sync with the same files in your username cache folder. The folders that you deleted were the ones in your username folder, right? When FSX is started - it rebuilds those two folders and their files, from the folders in that \%FSX_Root%\ShadersHLSL\ folder. If all aircraft are corrupt now - that means there is corruption within that \%FSX_root%\ShadersHLSL folder. I would suggest that hundreds of simm flyers have gone through this - including myself. My only suggestion now is - if you don't have a backup of that folder - is to do an FSX repair from the installation discs.Also - (SimNutt) note that PoolSize is ignored if UsePools equals 0 - *******'s notes.

Mike,Let me be a little bit clearer. The other measures suggested are perhaps good for other tweaks and provide solutions for other problems. However, it is well known that the HIGHMEMFIX=1 placed in the Graphics section of your fsx.cfg file will fix that particular graphics corruption problem. Eureka I've found it!!:Party:Luckily I always keep a copy of every fsx.cfg I've altered and managed to find an earlier version that still worked.Thanks to all those who gave help and suggested fixes, its great to be part of such an enthusiastic community.Happy Days :(

Yes the HIGHMEMFIX was in the original cfg that didn't work but for some reason worked in the good one...go figure :Thinking:Mike
