Installing FSX, but different files of data seem to be damaged

Featured Replies

Hey,I have just killed my Vista to go down to XP again (whether this was clever is debatable), and after having set everything up I'm now installing FSX. However, it seems to have different files being damaged. These are not consistent but change, i.e. in the first time I tried it was a file on DVD 2, now there was one in DVD 1 and it stopped the setup.Could this be because of a faulty hard drive?!? Or would this be a problem with the DVDs?Thanks,Doc

I don't get it - Now, the fourth time I'm trying to install FSX it worked. It only got D1Feat~7.cab to be wrong, I clicked "repeat" and it copied without problems. Possibly something to do with a DVD drive problem?Seems to have resolved itself - strangely.Doc

You're using XP. It isn't too 'smart' with regards to huge disk sizes. Make certain you have installed all the XP updates and other patches. Ensure you have current drivers for your computer's hardware.
