ThisAircraft Is Beating Me Down! Helpppp!

Why is it that whenever I REALLY like a plane it gives me so much trouble?1. I Absolutely cannot start the engines :(:unsure:and, yes, the checklist is being used.Never had this happen either in a sim or real aircraft. Am I missing something? It seems that the engine is firing long enough to burn off the prime and is getting no more fuel. Boost pump is on, fuel selector valve set to proper tank.2. Even with the brakes locked, when an engine fires up (for a second or two), the 340 turns 80-90 degrees. Try the other engine, turns in the opposite direction (as it should). Why don't the brakes work? They are definitely set and verified with the "Press . to release" message clearly visible.

Check your mixture and prop controls. If your mixture is max lean, you get no fuel and if your props are in feather, then you have huge resistence to the starter motor. You can pull the parking brake manually, it is the knob just below the engine starter switch.

Mixture is full rich and props set to max RPM, throttle cracked according to checklist, mags on, boost pumps on, a bit of prime.....what is left? I have cranked a lot of real engines, including Cessna 310s and a Beech T-34s (both a bit touchy) and never had the first problem. Is there a "trick" to the fuel valve or boost pumps that I am missing? Fuel valves seem ok because the engines are actually running for a few seconds on each start attempt. That leaves those boost pump switches that see.m to have only one setting
