FS2004 refusing to launch

Featured Replies

Anyone have any idea or experience on why when I launch FS2004 it says updating scenery then soon after stalls. This is a new phenomenon which suddenly occurred three days ago. The only new thing that I did was install the ATI Radeon 3.9 drivers (Which I have since uninstalled).ThanksShez

Reinstalling DirectX (9.0b) did the trick.

Doubt that it's your drivers doing that. Have you installed anything else at all recently in the way of texture files or scenery addons? The famous railroadsu.bmp incident is well-documented in this forum, for example.Otherwise, I'd just back up your FS9.CFG and let FS build a new one and see what happens. Then, if that works, move across your tweaks if you made any from the old FS9.CFG to the new one.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Hi Shez,I've run into this before. In my case it had to do with errors I made in my scenery.cfg file. Something in the file is probably causing the program to halt. Check it carefully, especially the most recent entries you made. Even a missing bracket or screwed up numebrs will cause FS9 to fail.Michael VerlinHistoric Jetliners Group
