Scenery won't load
I've solved the problem. The fact that I could not even load a flight with the default airport was the clue that finally penetrated my fog. Simply put, I had to reduce the traffic density, which I reduced from 40% to 25%. The response was immediate. Another lesson relearned. Consider this problem closed out.

Scenery won't load
I've installed Rob Touchtone's Toledo Express scenery. I am unable after multiple attempts to load it. FS9 goes through its customary loading routine. When it finishes the screen goes black and the sim crashes. I've tried multiple steps to no avail. I've actually had the same problem if I try to load a flight with the FS9 default airport. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

AI Traffic Runway Usage
I have FS9 Airport Design Editor installed on my system. I used it to modify the airports involved. I set the longer runways for takeoff, the others for landings. Thank you for your help. Michael

AI Traffic Runway Usage
Thank you for the information. I thought I had the ends matching, but I'll try it again and see if it will work.

AI Traffic Runway Usage
Trying to restrict takeoffs and landings to different runways results in FS9 deciding that the runways so designated are closed. Any thoughts on this matter are appreciated.

Throttle ineffective in FS9
Thank you all for the suggestions. I found the problem: The brake axis was reversed. I fixed it, and all is working again. I'm using FSUIPC to drive my joysticks, both for the axes and the buttons and switches.

Throttle ineffective in FS9
I'm encountering a problem that I've been unable to resolve. I just built a new system based on the I5 processor and an Intel motherboard. I'm still running XP Professional. FS9 is running normally in all respect but one. The throttles are ineffective. Even at full throttle I cannot get any aircraft to so much as taxi. I've tried multiple approaches including FSUIPC bypassing FS9, and CH Control manager. I have the CH Flightsim Yoke, Throttle quadrant and Pro pedals.I enabled the brake notification,The only clue I have is that, when I release the parking brake, the message says that the toe brakes are continually being applied! How this happened I don't know. Any assistance appreciated.

Paint Kit for HTAI Cessna 210P Pressurized Centurion
I wrote Henry Tomkiewicz requesting a paint kit for his C210P. Apparently he had uploaded the kits for his AI Cessna package here at the AVSIM Library. They were lost in the crash. If anyone has the kit for this aircraft, please contact me. Thank you Michael Verlin

Texture mapping for Bill Lyons Goose
I'm writing to ask assistance. I'd appreciate hearing from someone who knows how the textures are mapped for Bill Lyons' FS9 Goose. The mapping scheme is quirky and difficult to sort out. There are areas that I'd like to modify, but, even after much effort, I can't identify. Also, If anyone has the model from the original windrifters payware release, I would appreciate a copy. I believe the mapping was changed from the original for the freeware release. My thanks.Michael Verlin

Problem Starting DHC-3 Otter Flight in water
I just installed Eugene Heyart's DHC-3 PZL Otter amphibian. My problem is that the aircraft simply will not taxi or take off from the water. As soon as I approach water the aircraft suddenly rises uncontrollably into the air. I am am sure that there is something simple and stupid that I'm overlooking. Any help appreciated.Michael Verlin

Virtual Cockpit very dark
A drawback I've had for a long time that has kept me from using virtual cockpits is that the instrument panels are rendered very darkly on my system. This makes them nearly impossible to use. Any suggestions to alleviate this are appreciated.Thank you.Michael Verlin

Using previously saved flights
Message overtaken by events. I've discovered the answer to my own question. Thank you for this program. I'm already impressed even though I've only just begun to learn how to use it.Michael VerlinHistoric Jetliners Group

Using previously saved flights
I've looked through the documentation and cannot find an answer to this. Can I still use flights saved prior to the installation of Radar Contact? The aircraft is shut down and parked at the departure gate, and a flight plan made with FSBuild is saved with the flight.Michael Verlin

Looking for a font
OK. For the time being I have solved my problem. I was able to make a satisfactory recreation of two aircraft names, working from photographs. This is really quite an ornate font. If any of you who read this thread know the name of this font and where it can be found, please let me know.Michael VerlinHistoric Jetliners Group

Looking for a font
Thank you Morgan, but I have that font. It was used as the Fuselage Title font for the early model 707's and the first 747's.The font I'm looking for was used for the aicraft names on the Billboard livery, i.e. "Clipper Juan T. Trippe"Michael VerlinHistoric Jetliners Group
