March 8, 201115 yr Cool...I'm glad that people are expressing your opinion. I realize that the version I'm running came out 6 or 7 years ago and it is evidenced by it's look and feel. Scenery design techniques have profoundly evolved as I have seen it in other scenery that I have. So sometimes it's can be a good thing to upgrade. That's why I'm not down on FlyTampa but wanted to hear from our user base what they think. So far, it's been fairly positive and it's what I like to hear...Florida is fun to fly.I still wish that scenery vendors would provide both the system and a SHIFT-Z readout on each one of their screen shots so we can tell if out lowly Core i990's will run them well (Big Smile Goes Here).MarkHiI had the legacy (boxed and bundled) version and was therefore a little reluctant to take the plunge and buy Fly Tampa Rebooted at first when it came out. However, having experienced their Buffalo scenery, I decided to go for it and having just installed it into FS9, all I can say is .... WOW!!! It is incredible and without doubt the best airport scenery I have ever seen - I have most of the addon airports from Aerosoft Mega Airport series, UK Extreme and FSDT and would have said that those developers were setting the standard, but now they have been left behind by Fly Tampa who have seriously moved the goalposts. I would have no reservation in recommending this scenery to any FS9 user - you won't regret it!BillWindows XP Pro SP2; Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0Ghz CPU; Arctic Cool 7Pro; ASUS P5N-E-SLI Motherboard;4GB Corsair 800Mhz DDR2 RAM; 768MB nVidia GeForce 8800GTX Dual VGA Graphics card;2x 500GB SATA 7200RPM Hard Drive; 650W (2 x 12V) PSU; 2 x 1000GB + 1 x 150GB Western Digital External Hard Drive; CH Pro Yoke and PedalsAll helping to power 291GB of fs9!
March 9, 201115 yr I was disappointed with the TAMPA Reboot Package. Fly Tampa's Buffalo, Midway, Seattle and Boston packages have a number of animations on or around the airport grounds. The Tampa package does not. The trees, on the airport grounds, fade in and out as you travel around the airport. This was not a problem with the other four packages. I'm running W7 Pro 64 with an i5 processor so I have enought power and none of my other airport scenery has issues with trees. Not certain if I set the package up correctly (no problems in the past), but I have reinstalled it twice to see if it would fix the problems, but they still remain. I have also installed their first update to the package.Overall very nice representation of the airport, I have 20-30 flights in and out of Tampa over the past 15 years. It is just not up to the same high standard that they set in their previous releases.Tom
March 9, 201115 yr Author You know, I think I'm going to take the plunge with it anyway. I think that the responses have been positive enough and I would like a more modern version of the airport. My box should be able to run it and maybe if we keep buying their scenery, they'll produce a more modern Miami?Mark
