fatal error on startup

Featured Replies

I have both fs9 and fsx installed. Due to space limitaions on my C hard drive, i installed fsx on an external hd.It ran fine until this morning.I start the program and a minute later I get a fatal error message and do I want to restart fsx bla bla.I didn't do anything unusual that I can think of that would have caused this error, i.e. haven't installed any new addons.I ran a defrag program for the drive- no major problems there. Also ran a registry fix software, and rebooted.Same problem on fsx loading. Can't figure this out!Eytan OrnsteinIntel 2 core duo E4400 2GHZGeForce 9800 GT4GB DDR2Windows XP HomeTwin moitors Samsung Syncmaster 10" 931Bf and MAG 21"FSX addons installedUltimate Terrain EuropeGround Environment XUltimate traffic 2Flight1 ATR 72-500Horizon VFR Photographic Scenery v2.0 for the UKUK2000 Extreme Heathrow, Gatwick and BristolFlylogic Switzerland XFSCommander 9 (external application)

Can you take a look into your Windows event log where the possible problem might get stated then? This would help. :(

Where do I find this windows event log on my computer?Eytan

In addition to checking the event viewer (hit Start button and type event in the search bar then look at the top of the menu and click on event viewer), try renaming your fsx.cfg to fsx.old then restart fsx and let the fsx.cfg rebuild.Best regards, Jim

EytanNot sure re XP but usually press the Windows + R key and type in eventvwr.msc and wehen it opens go to the date of the crash and see what it says. Another tip is to click on Application ans Service Logs\Microsoft\Diagnostics-Performance\Operational and there will be a number of "Critical" "warning" and "error" events and you should be able to see what caused the issue.RegardspH
