FPS Limiter V0.2

Featured Replies

1). Place the FPSLimiter_0.2.jar into your FSX root folder.2). Unzip it.3). Double-click on the jar file. It will then give you a GUI interface, wher you will click on "Search Executable"4). The executable it wants is FSX.EXE, in your FSX root folder. When you've selected it, click on "Open".5). The GUI will now show "fsx.exe in the "name" window, and the path to your fsx folder.6). If you have a single monitor - put "30" in the "maximum fps" window. If you have a TripleHead2Go monitor system - put "90".7). Click on "create bat" & then close the GUI.8). Look in the fsx root folder, and you will see there are now three files starting with "Limiter_", a "HookHelper.dll", an 'fsx.exe.limited.bat", and three starting with "FPS".9). right-click on the "fpx.exe.limited.bat, and then select "Send to", then select "Desktop". This will create a shortcut on your desktop, which you will now use to start FSX.
I did it exactly as described but a DOS command prompt comes up and disappears. Have latest Java installed.

Running FSX; ASE; REX; GEX

So what happens if you click on the .bat file directly?

That's what I did. Ran .bat file as admin and the aforementioned occurs. Do I use that file to start FSX, or am I supposed to start FSX as normal and the window for the .bat file comes up?

Put a shortcut to the bat file on your desktop. When you click it, it will open a DOS box and start the limiter, and then start FSX. When FSX opens you will have a green note in the upper left saying your frames are locked at 30. Dave

Thanks Dave! I thought that some sort of GUI would was supposed to pop open via which you would open up FSX.

Okay I finally got it to work (apparently I didn't have JAVA installed). I created the BAT file and copied to my desktop. Double clicked it and a DOS (?) window opened and FSX started. However the F10, F11, and F12 keys only swich views and don't do what the FSlimiter is supposed to.Have I done something wrong?ThanksAlan

I think the .2 version added the F switches. You can change the "/f:30", in the bat file, to change the frame rate. I have never had to. Dave

Really, I feel like I´m amongst ****** (censured) I told you this in post # 526 in the other thread: "You need to have Java installed, or you will see the flash only" It´s a complete waste of time when people don´t follow the advise, a total, complete waste of my time, your time, and Avsim time! Not to be rude, no, no, no... Just a bit chocked! Hypnotized.gif

If you go back and read my post I did follow your instructions because I said
(apparently I didn't have JAVA installed)
which was an indirect reference to your reply. If you didn't jump to conclusions I followed that up with a question which you chose to ignore. If you feel that it's a waste of your time then don't bother replying to the post and let others answer my follow up question.Alan
