  1. VRInsight replied to my email saying that they don't offer any yoke handles with switches.Alan
  2. BrassEmI haven't heard back from VR and PFC weren't very interested. I may mod it myself. If I do I will post.Alan
  3. I have sent several emails to Bill Atwell at VRAircraft inquiring about the size of the twin jet TQ but have not received any replies. Does anyone know if they are still in business. Their TQs look very well made (steel and aluminum) and reasonably priced ($865 for the twin jet model).SunbearThe Revolution TQ is way outside my price range. I'm looking for something under $1000.Alan
  4. BluepilotI run FSX full screen and I mapped the pause button to one of my GoFlight module buttons (went into TrackiR and mapped the pause to a key stroke and reproduced that in GF) and it works great (haven't mapped the center function yet). You should be able to map Pause and Center in TrackiR to keyboard keystrokes (make sure you save it -- I think that maybe you're not doing that).PaulJThanks for that tip. I was pulling up the TrackiR screen maximised to set center. I think I will map Center to a key stroke so I can do it from within FSX -- should be easier than looking at two windows.Alan
  5. I have a similar issue. I look at the center of the monitor and hit F12 to center the view. However when I'm flying I find that to look down at the instrument panel (particularly the light switches on the bottom of the Cessna 172 panel) I find myself with my chin almost on my chest with my eyes looking up. Very uncomfortable.Alan
  6. If you go back and read my post I did follow your instructions because I said which was an indirect reference to your reply. If you didn't jump to conclusions I followed that up with a question which you chose to ignore. If you feel that it's a waste of your time then don't bother replying to the post and let others answer my follow up question.Alan
  7. Okay I finally got it to work (apparently I didn't have JAVA installed). I created the BAT file and copied to my desktop. Double clicked it and a DOS (?) window opened and FSX started. However the F10, F11, and F12 keys only swich views and don't do what the FSlimiter is supposed to.Have I done something wrong?ThanksAlan
  8. Sorry posted in the wrong forum.Alan
  9. I found the FPS_Limiter GUI.jar. file but it's a RAR format file. I can open it and inside are all the files that were in the FPS_Limiter GUI.RAR file. Not sure what's going on here.Alan
  10. Can anyone help with this please?ThanksAlan
  11. Okay I purchased FS Build for flight planning and PFE for ATC directions. Thanks for all your recommendations.Alan
  12. Okay I followed the steps to rename the readme file and copied all the files into the root of FSX. Step 3 says to start FPS_Limiter GUI.jar but the only file that is there is FPS_Limiter GUI.RAR which is the zipped file.Anyone help please.ThanksAlan
  13. So saving inside FSX avoids the resetting of LOD as opposed to editing the FSX.cfg file?ThanksAlan
  14. I've just watched videos of PFE and FDC -- looks good so far. FDC reads off the checklist and guides you to the runway including interactions with ground and departure control. After take off PFE takes over.Need to investigate further.Alan
  15. MikeI'll investigate PFE and see if it will import from FS Build. I like the idea of VoxATC but not sure how that works with a planned route.ThanksAlan
  16. Hi BobThanks for that recommendation. Does FS Build provide any ATC voice (or visual) instructions as you fly the route?Alan
  17. Thanks. I guess I need to stay out of settings. Don't know why FSX would do that.Alan
  18. MikeThanks for your reply. I would have thought that you have to enter a flight plan in order to get the correct ATC commands -- although probably not as sophisticated and automated as the one you recommend. Alan
  19. Does anyone have any experience with Pro Flight Emulator Plus? Or can you recommend a good add-on that will let me plan a flight and have ATC guide me through all the way to final with altitude calls etc?ThanksAlan
  20. I noticed that and thought that maybe it was due to going into Settings. What kind if in-flight changes are we talking about?ThanksAlan
  21. JesusThanks for the great little configuration editor. I have a question concerning the frame rate limiter tool that you linked. The readme file is not much help so where do I put the various files that were extracted? Mine is in the download folder and when I clicked on the .EXE file a black box popped up and then disappeared before I could see what it did. Inside FSX F12 only brings up the top down view. Are the files supposed to be placed in FSX somewhere for it to work?ThanksAlan
  22. Okay thanks for that explanation. I set the LOD to 6.5 with no detrimental affects. I guess you keep increasing it until you find the sweet spot.Alan
  23. Right now all I fly is default FSX airplanes in particular the Bombardier. Is there anyway to get rid of the yoke as it blocks some controls? Also can you recommend a good beginners tutorial for panel design?ThanksAlan
