Changing Mission Aircraft

Featured Replies

How would you go about changing the aircraft used in a mission?

Full names in accordance to Avsim forum rules, thanks. In order to change the FSX plane for a mission, Go to the mission's folder (FSX/Missions/(category)/ (Mission Name) and open the .FLT file with notepad (right click on it and select Notepad in Open With...) and go down to the [sim.0] and change the title to the name of the plane you want to use. To find the correct name for the plane, go to it's aircraft.cfg file in its folder, that says the aircrafts name and variation (eg.Sim=Cessna Skyhawk 172SP Paint1) Save the file, don't save it with Save As, as this will save it a a text file, not a .FLT file.

Thanks,

Kevin L

or you can click on "Enable changes in Selected Mission (no rewards given)" on the mission selection screen if you don't mind not receiving any rewards. Clicking "Enable changes..." will allow you to select a different aircraft once the mission has loaded.

Kevin, please go and read the rules yourself. Full names or first only is not a requirement of the Avsim forums. It *IS* a requirement of some (one?) sub-forum for a commercial developer here at Avsim. Please leave the rule adherence policy to the Administrators.
