fuel level in gauge

Featured Replies

Can you advise on the following anomaly: i set the fuel load using the default FSX fuel when I look at the fuel gauges they ALWAYS show 1471 for each side??setting fuel at say 35% for each tank = 400kg*2=800kg *2.20462=1763lbs. Each gauge should show 881lbs but continue to show 1471?thanksMel

The only thing i can think off is that ur parked next to a fuel pump at an airport

Parking next to the fuel pump will fill the tanks to capacity. When you enter the new fuel figures, click on the 'other' fuel box to ensure your figures are accepted and make sure you use save not cancel to exit out of the menus.Or ... Are you using Vista or Win 7 with FSX installed in the 'program files' directory? And not configured to run as 'admin'? If so, it could be that Windows might be trying to protect you from yourself. Vista and Win 7 do not like anybody changing files in the 'program files' directory because thats is what viruses do and will silently block any attempts to do so. FSX, being an old program, keeps its configuration files beside its program files. Short term fix is to right click on your FSX icon and select 'run as admin'. If that works and the fuel values are correctly changed, then right click on the FSX icon again and select 'properties'. Under the 'compatibility' tab, select Run as Admin. Next time you re-install FSX, pick a directory other then the default and you wont have this problem.
