April 5, 201115 yr Ok here is the deal..... I'm a Flight Simmer for 16 ears already and am a let's say semi-hardcore Simmer. I actually only fly Airliners and IFR (e.g. LH1234 from EDDF-EDDT).I don't want to limit myself to one aircraft. I like having a large variation going from a KLM Cityhopper Fokker 70 to a Singapore Airlines Airbus A380. I'm an absolute wing-view Fan. When I get bored in the sky or waiting for my take-off clearance I usually glance a the wing from all directions. So an aircraft with no wing-view usually is a no-go for me.I want to try and keep a combination of a good exterior, good wing view, easy on the frames, wingflex and keep a rather equal quality throughout my fleet. That's the reason why I actually stay away from PMDG, and similar as I don't want to get spoiled and be limited just for their available aircraft. Oh and a Virtual Cockpit is usually a preference, but doesn't have to be 100% detailed.... I use it only for taxi and landing and want to have a little 3D cockpit feeling, but it's not that of a must. I really like the Overland ones as they have both VC and WV in one model. And the FDE shouldn't be too simple .... I guess Overland improved their FDE with their update. I'm not a real pilot so I can't really rate FDE's, but I don't want to be able to rocket a fully fueled and loaded 747-400 to FL350 in just 7 minutes. The ones where I'm having a hard time deciding are the 747 and 777 .... POSKY or Overland??Overland has the advantage of a Virtual Cockpit and the better eye candy, but apparently POSKY has the superior FDE. Overland claims to have improved their FDE with their update. Oh and I am still looking for the best 747 and 777 sounds (All engines) and also the best Trent 500 (A340-500 and 600) sounds. Amadeo Araujo
April 6, 201115 yr POSKY does NOT have the upper hand over the Overland models, in terms of FDEs, and the POSKY 777 is far superior in terms of interior modelling.Dave. April 6, 201115 yr Author POSKY does NOT have the upper hand over the Overland models, in terms of FDEs, and the POSKY 777 is far superior in terms of interior modelling.Dave.So am I understanding it correctly..... the Overland FDE's are better than POSKY FDE's?? Yeah the VC from POSKY 777 surely is absolutely amazing.... Overland VC's might not be 100% accurate, but their OK for me as longas I can identify it as a 777, 747, etc.... Cockpit. But Overland has the big plus that I can have wing-view & VC at the same time and the VC's from Overland are absolute FPS friendly. Amadeo Araujo
April 7, 201115 yr Commercial Member I wouldn't let lack of wingviews prevent you from enjoying a particular aircraft, they're just simple panel.cfg edits you can easily do yourself. There's a particularly good thread over at flightsimworld with info:http://www.flightsimworld.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=112713Jim
April 7, 201115 yr Author Ok I'm currently in a Vitual Cockpit fever. I don't need all the preflight procedures, etc.... !! So I currently went back to Overland, since the FPS are very friendly, the VC decent (not great, but decent). As I said I'm a semi hardcore simmer and also want decent FDE. I don't want a fully fueled and loaded 744 rocketing to FL350 in under 8 minutes. Are the Overland (post-update... I got the update) rather decent?? CLS or Overland for the A330 and A340-200/300? What has the better FDE.... Overland has the more accurate VC with the square corner displays (CLS has the more functional VC) so I'm going to decide this one on the FDE. Which on is better?
