Getting a Keycode

Featured Replies

Ok, I've paid for it. I've downloaded it. I've gone through the rigmarole of sending off for the keycode - three times now over the last two hours. How long am I expected to wait for the key to enable me to start using the product? My money was taken from me quickly enough, so why am I not getting the use of this product immediately?Fed up!:( :( John

Have you put jdtllc.com in your ISP and local spam pass through? Check your spam folders.Sometimes the key code server is down for a while for maintenance on weekends. In addition severe storms passed through the location (Atlanta, GA) where that server is. Is is not the same server or location used for the program distribution. In the meantime put your waiting to good use. Read the tutorials and documentation downloaded from:http://www.jdtllc.com/documentation.htmRC is not a hop in and fly application but emulates real world ATC control requiring knowledge of planning and flying operation to comply with ATC procedures.

unfortunately thunderstorms and tornados ripped through georgia last night, causing electrical outages for many, death and destruction for 17 rhoughout the southeast. when electricity was restored, the keys were processed. i'm sorry you weren't able to use the product immediately. as the sirens were going off at 3am this morning, i was more worried about the safety of my family, where the flashlights were, and moving my family to an interior bathroom away from windows and doors. unfortunately, the ups's only lasted 20 minutes. usually enough for our typical spring/summer thunderstorms.if you would like a refund, please let me know. i will be happy to put that money back into your account as quickly as it was removed.jd

Thanks for this JD. Sorry to hear of all the bad weather you experienced. The keycode finally arrived after I had closed down for the evening.Glad and relieved to say that I've got Radar Contact up and running and have printed all 290 pages of the manual....I can't read off a computer and do things at the same time so a printed page is invaluable. However, I have hit a snag. I get all the way to page 35 and find none of the keyboard numbers activate either the weather briefing using 2, or requests for clearance using 1. Search as I may I can't find the reason for this. I realise I'm missing something along the way but felt I religiously did everything in the sequence shown in the manual. Any clue you can give me as to where I'm going wrong please?Hope your weather eases soon.John

In order for RC to get keystrokes the FS window must have focus, usually a panel or other view, not the RC in flight window. That is the most common error. Just click anywhere on the FS panel for instance. In the case of some add-on applications or aircraft they can steal duplicate keystroke assignments. If you are flying an aircraft with an FMC that can be set to get input from your keyboard that feature must be disabled. If there is a key assignment conflict you can change those in RC or probably in your add-on. In RC you can change the key and key combinations in the keyboard tab. Restart RC before using to enable those changes. Now that your install is complete be sure to upgrade the versions of fsuipc and makerwys to current versions as noted in the pinned topic at the forum head. Once updated run RC and run the scenery build once more to correct possible data entries.

Thanks Ronzie.Did what you said, well most of it anyway, and have now got it working. All I have to do now is read the rest of the manual carefully to try to use Radar Contact properly!:(:( Even now I'm quite impressed, especially with the accents. The English Air Traffic Controllers are not that well spoken are they?!!:( Anyway, I can see I'm going to have fun with this and just hope they don't make the sort of mistakes the FSX ones so regularly do. I'm sure they won't.Thanks to everyone for their help and I do hope you all soon get over the weather problems you've been experiencing. We've now seen the reports of it on our news. Horrible. What with Australia, Japan and now America I'm beginning to wonder when its all going to catch up with us in the UK.Best wishes.John

Some of our beta testers including at least two ATC controllers are in the UK.For some of the crowded London area arrivals and departures be sure to read the sections and tutorials on using SIDs and STARS which keep the traffic among those airports well separated. In RC check out the departure options of alt-restrictions and no alt-restrictions to navigate on your own (no vectors) to follow charts for the initial 25 nm range waypoints (in your plan) and for arrivals doing the same for the last 40 nm if you don't want vectors. Also check out the NOTAMS function. I've just posted within the last few threads suggested procedures about this.
