Registration - My Turn

Featured Replies

I've used RC for many years now and have installed it many times. This time, however, it won't take the key. I sent in the email, formatted as I have in the past. I actually had it autogenerate and then pasted the format into my yahoo mail. Got the key back. I paste it in, click the button and the registration page pauses and then closes. Open RC again - same thing.I am running XP. I have tried rebooting, uninstalling/reinstalling and running explicitly as administrator. It just won't take the key. I've done this before, so I'm stumped as to why it won't work this time. I'm out of ideas.

Did you include the '-' if it was in the product code?

are your running vista or windows 7? if so, are you right mouse clicking the .exe or shortcut, and clicking run as administrator?is there a minus sign in front of the product id? if there is, did you include the minus sign in the key request email?when you pasted the key into the key field, are there any extra blanks at the end of the key? if so, get rid of themif none of that helps, right mouse click the .exe or shortcut, click run as administrator, when the registration screen appears, paste the key into the key field. before you hit the register button, press alt-prtscn. that will copy the registration screen onto the windows clipboard. create a new email to [email protected], in the subject line put key problem. in the body of the email, press ctrl-v, which will paste the windows clipboard into the body of the email. send the email.i'll reply with what the issue is.jd

JD,Thanks for the personal response. To answer the questions:I am running XP SP3. For the first install, the product ID did not have a "-". I completely uninstalled and reinstalled on a different hard drive. The new product ID did have a "-" I made sure to include that "-" in the registration e-mail.I made sure to paste just the key, no spaces on either end. I focused on this specific issue three times just to make sure.I'll send the screenshot as advised. For reference, here is the full key. It's longer than the registration field in the Registration dialog:BQDNKHJPBQNQALBGJEJQCPHILDILDJFOHDGHBAFFJLJNACHDGEAOHLHADMGDNMJHThanks again for your personal response. I appreciate your dedication to continuing support for RC.
