April 16, 201115 yr Ok I bought Windows 7 from PC World and installed it on my computer, here are my specs before I continue..-Packard Bell BV IMEDIA X2416 -Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz (4 CPUs), ~ 2.3GHz-4GB Ram-640GB HDD-Nvidia Geforce 7100/630i and I have the latest Drivers from Nvidia website for my OS -Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (6.1, Build 7601)-DirectX11Now my issue is when I start into a flight if I try to change view it all freezes but I hear the sound etc just literally can't change view? Like if i'm in Spot view it will be in 2-D Cockpit still and the cockpit frozen.I'm using Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and tried both V9.0&9.1 still no luck.. but FSX is fine just I get bad FPS due to my GFX Card..Played around with the settings still nothing, and tried running it as Windows XP Service Pack 1,2,3 and Vista SP 1 & 2.I am thinking of getting the Nvidia 8800GT (512mb) also.Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)Luke. - Luke Pabari

May 1, 201115 yr Did you install the OS or did it come preinstalled?I think Stephen thought of FS9 forum directly, since it's there where most of FS9 users hang.If you thought of getting 8800GT for FSX, just forget it before you even start.8800GT is going to crush FS9, but FSX is going to crush 8800GT.

May 2, 201115 yr I would guess it's graphics related. Did you try in both full screen and windowed mode? Also try backing up fs9.cfg and restarting fs9 so it rebuilds fs9.cfg. (actually, if you go to the windows start menu, and drill down in to the microsoft games menu, under flight simulator 9 is a troubleshooting menu folder and in there are shortcuts for "reset defaults" and "safe mode". Try the "reset defaults" first and then "safe mode" (safe mode disables some graphics acceleration features, reset defaults also recreates fs9.cfg))For FSX, considering you are running your CPU at 2.3, I think an 8800 GT might help some, but I wouldn't pay too much for one as there are much better ones out there that aren't all that expensive (GTX 550 ti @ $125 for instance). I'm running the nvidia 270.61 drivers on an 8800GTS and it works (not the best, but OK).scott s..
