That Il-86 is actually a very nice thing, has a pretty good VC and a really nice external model. No engine sounds on the thing when you download it although there is some audio with it, such as overbanking warnings etc, so you'll need to add some screaming turbojet sounds (707 would probably do), but apart from that minor hassle it is great.Don't honestly know if the real thing flies like this FSX version, but it feels fairly believable: i.e. ponderous and sluggish on the controls with not a vast amount of elevator authority, it is heavy even when you've burned off a lot of fuel, these attributes necessitating a quite early flare on landing and deft use of the trim to avoid piledriving it into the runway on touchdown, which I'm guessing is probably not far off what the real Il-86 flies like, as it is certainly a big bugger.Expect to be brushing up on the traits of Russky aircraft to fly it right though.Al

Is this the final version of the Il-86? When I had contact with Kirill in January, I think it was still a beta version. Sending him an mail now to ask how it all goes. By the way, for engine sounds of the Il-86, go visit avsim.ru. They have all these Russian engine sounds.
