April 26, 201115 yr Howdy All Well, the MD-11 manual covering the FMS says that *.PLN format (MSFS) flight plans can be loaded and used by the FMC. And as Murphy would have it, I cannot get even one to pick up and load. I have read and re-read the manual several times. If they do work, as the manual says, I have several questions:1. All FPs made by the Flight Planner in FSX end up in the FSX document folder under the user. Ok. This is where I have been working from.2. The manual does not say what SPECIFIC format the name of the MS-generated FP must be in, only that a match must occur during the search.3. What must the format of the *.PLN name be in??4. Must the names of flight source and destination be in the MD-11 database while using a *.PLN flight plan?? Can the MD-11 FMC recognize ANY location in the MSFS database, including FICTIONAL created airports? So I am confused as to where the crossover is between what the MD-11 FMC can do, and cannot do, with MSFS generated *.PLN flight plans. So far, I cannot get it to read a single one from the \My Documents\Flight Simulator X folder. I just get a "cannot load flight plan" error.HELP!!! Many Thanks in advance. --- Bob Bob Magill
April 28, 201115 yr To add routes to the FMC in the PLN format (located in Users...Documents\Flight Simulator X File) on the F-PLN INIT page I enter the origin and destination in FROM/TO rather than the CO ROUTE. Be sure to enter the / between the origin and destination. This works with plans created by the FSX planner or downloaded from vroute premium.Michael Cubine Michael Cubine

Will give that method a try. Am also getting more proficient in making plans both from scratch (in the cockpit FMC) and using FSBuild2.Using the FSX source and method will round out the variety of ways to put together flight plans.I am really enjoying the MD-11. Now retired, I flew on many of them in the ole days in their prime Thanks --- Bob Bob Magill
