Revised VC panel
Wow, such a great improvement. I was surprised when they put out this nice plane with that beat up panel and cockpit areas. Your new version is MUCH better and makes flying it from the cockpit a better experience. Thanks to you for your efforts here. Please post when you can. Regards.

A couple of little issues.
Yep, I would have to vote a plus for a clean interior choice. That worn out, wiped out look is not aesthetically appealing at all. Even one plane with a "clean" front panel that would give us the choice would be a real plus.

AC500
Hiya Rich --- glad to hear it. Hey, Bob Hoover hopefully will have a chance to fly this one. Such a history there. Just ordered my copy -- hope to get it installed tonight. Should look really good in P3D.

AC500
Been waiting for this one for a long time --- Shrike was a great and fun plane in the 60's. Anyone use the P3D installer yet?? Working OK ??? Thanks!!!

Weather Adjustment in P3dv3 - Questions
Hello Rich (and all) --- my question applies to using the drop-down menu IN FLIGHT to access the 'user defined weather' function in P3D. I was trying to find out if there indeed is a restriction on using this function DURING A FLIGHT. This is where I get the 'go back and fix the error' window most of the time...and it does not point out what you did to make an error. And it does not say you cannot access this function DURING a flight. This is where I am confused --- but doing it all at the start of a flight seems to work well. Although it should make no difference, I use REX for my texture themes. But REX is not active during my flights...only when wanting to change textures. So anyway, thanks for the feedback. I will continue to experiment with the weather settings in hopes of coming up with some 'rules of the road' regarding where to set these parameters. Cheers!!!

Weather Adjustment in P3dv3 - Questions
Hello All --- well, have surfed around and not found much info on weather adjustment in P3D. Am a newbie with P3D and it is just great. One of the more common issues I have run into is adjustment of weather mainly while in a flight. Wondering if this is just not meant to be or if there is a "magic sequence" that we are supposed to use? Seems OK when starting a flight (aircraft on ground) but unlike FSX, in flight weather adjustment is difficult. Mainly with cloud layers. I get lots of error indications but it does not say what is exactly causing the errors. Any help, comments, etc. much appreciated. THANKS!!!

Best monitor to pair with GTX 970
apollomaker replied to captain_adf's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHello Vortex ---- yes this is what I have been able to realize about where G-Sync monitors have their usefulness. The frame rates in FSX are just too slow for it to function as it should. Since FSX is my main use, looks like I will just stick with my present setup which does a good job but it is always fun to seek something a bit better. Thanks for the post and the link. Much appreciated. Cheers, Bob

Best monitor to pair with GTX 970
apollomaker replied to captain_adf's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHello Rockliffe and all ---- well, I am onboard with looking for the next step up in monitors and have been studying a bit on the g-sync information since I have a GTX970 which appears to be the required brand for the benefits of g-sync. While I understand the basics of what g-sync does, have a question about its use with FSX. Normally in FSX, the program and GPU are generating frames in the area of 20 - 30 fps. This is relatively slow compared to what the new g-sync monitors are capable of. My understanding is that g-sync in the monitor synchronizes the monitor with the rate at which frames are being sent to the monitor -- which can vary as well. I am wondering if the g-sync system can do its magic on synchronizing frames at that "slow" rate that FSX (and GPU) produces them ??? Possibly I have missed something about how g-sync works but this seems to be the essence of it. All comments welcome please. Trying to make a decision as to whether g-sync and a nice hi res monitor will really provide me some upside. Many Thanks ---- Bob

Trying to Install GTN750 with CJ2 (?)
Hello Ray and Bert --- wow, did the mod with Bert's V2 installer kit and it is just superb. Have it in a flight plan right now. Super nice and thanks again.   ---- Bob

Trying to Install GTN750 with CJ2 (?)
Hiya Bert -- so far, I have just been trying to install the 750 via the Flight 1 stock installer. For those that asked, I am running Win7-64 Pro for my OS. My FSX version is the Gold pack with Acceleration. Also, I always remove the "Carenado Meteo" install directive in the dll.xml file -- each time I have installed the CJ2. I do this for all Carenado sims that use it. Ray asked about your version there Bert....should I try that one??? Thanks --- Bob

Trying to Install GTN750 with CJ2 (?)
Hi Ranger -- well, somewhat comforting to know I am not alone with the above problems. I guess the way the CJ2 is coded, it is not a "clean" environment for the 750 as we are used to with their previous sims. But that was not their objective, for sure. If Carenado is not going to put out well functioning systems, then it would be nice if they would offer the option to add the 750 or some similar solution. Well, if you come across any workarounds, let us know. Thanks!!! Bob

Trying to Install GTN750 with CJ2 (?)
OK Ray, will try both modes and making sure the AP is turned on. It appears others have installed the 750 and had it work fine. Again, I did use the Flight 1 installer, as opposed to the manual method in the panel.cfg file, to add the 750. Strange situation. Scratching head on this one. I do have the ver. 1.1 of the CJ2. Guess that is the latest and greatest. The CJ2 stock systems do work as they do before I added the 750. I have already done one complete clean-out of the CJ2 and reinstalled due to this 750 issue. Nothing changed. Thanks ---- Bob

Trying to Install GTN750 with CJ2 (?)
Hi Ray --- been reading your many posts here - very informative. Yes, all those things you mention are in play OK. This is really confusing as I have never had any issues with the 750 installing in many other planes. I notice too that the NAV button on the AP does not function with the 750 installed, but this is probably not important. I have tried many settings to see if I could affect anything but no joy. The NAV button stays off no matter what. 750 selected or FSX nav selected. Any other ideas??

Trying to Install GTN750 with CJ2 (?)
Hello All --- well been trying to install and use the 750 with the CJ2 and having a problem. Cannot get the 750 to take control of the AP function. I used the Flight One installer to add it to the CJ2 and checked for both the .INI file being present and the selection of the 750 with the SD card slot. Both OK. Still it will not work. 750 functions all are working internally but no control over the navigation. Have only been with the CJ2 for a short time so most likely some setting I am missing (?) Any help appreciated ---- Thanks!

Version 2.0 released!
Installed version 2.0 and launched a flight using the autopilot to check the FLC. I can say this shows that Carenado does have the resources to do FLC correctly (variable pitch for constant selected airspeed) when they want to be bothered with it. A real treat. Too bad they did not do it on earlier aircraft where appropriate. Cheers!

Overall Behavior of Failure System Q400 Pro
Hello All --- well am new user of the Q400 Pro and have been busy trying to find some information, in clear form, that discusses how and what for the failure system. Specifically, I am looking to control and/or shut off failures. I have looked all around but can find nothing comprehensive --- here is my present basic understanding: 1. When I select a Q400 aircraft, I get a green banner that says "the default failures have been installed" across the upper screen. 2. I have looked at the failure files that are created when an aircraft is selected but it appears that NO FAILURES are set unless the user manually sets them in the system panel (?) with the exception of "defaults" (?) 3. Is there any way to defeat the failure system if you do not want to use them?? Sure would appreciate any comments/pointers from veteran Pro users ----- Many Thanks ---- Bob

Hawker my first impressions
Given our collective observations of all posters here, this plane is a real mess. In my opinion, it is not flyable as the sim of the plane it is supposed to be. I have shelved mine, hoping that these blatantly obvious errors might be corrected by the designers. It is also sad that Carenado is coding their gauges now...given they probably will not fix them or let their customers fix them.
-
Hawker my first impressions
Yes Jim -- this is a HUGE bug. When viewing the total fuel remaining in the FMS, with both the main engines AND THE APU shut down, the total fuel still shows a decreasing figure at 1750 lbs/hr. HUGE bug.
-
Hawker my first impressions
Well, it might be shutting down the APU at least by the sound of it spooling down, but the FMS (fuel management display) does not budge for the APU. It appears to work for the main engines, but not the APU....leaving the pilot to guess as to what to believe in terms of actual fuel consumption. Oh, well.
-
Hawker my first impressions
Another buggy release. But we did not expect any different. Setting the pitch/altitude oriented functions of the AP aside, things like the fuel management are a mess. I have not been able to fine a way to turn off the APU. The fuel consumed by the APU is far too high and cannot be removed from the total fuel being consumed (as indicated in the FMS) making the plane not flyable over any distance without running out of fuel. I have not looked into the gauge code to see if this can be fixed by the user. A BIG service pack is in order here. :-(

Hawker.....Again
It does look "flat" -- and Carenado seems to have gone out of their way to not post any close-up pictures of the CDU other than pop-ups. Well, won't be long before we know B)
