April 28, 201115 yr Good Evening,I want to try the built in FSX multiplayer function specifically the shared cockpit option. Are there any requirements other than having SP2 or acceleration installed? I use FSX Standard SP2. Thank You!There are a FEW considerations to remember:1. Players, I understand, have to be using the SAME version level (Acceleration includes SP2)so SP2 and Acceleration should connect fine but neither would connect with SP1 or original.2. When setting up, the pilot who will share his AC needs to select "Share my aircraft" when selecting aircraft and location. The player who will be JOINING should NOT select "Share my aircraft" - one SHARES, the other JOINS.There may be other things to know about... see the Learning Center for info on shared communication; our group uses TS for comms, even when sharing, so I have no experience with that aspect.Loyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro

April 28, 201115 yr So this mean I can play with an FSX user who has FSX deluxe SP2 or FSX Standard SP2 right?Yes, as long as you both have the same plane. As I recall, the standard version doesnt have all the same default planes as the deluxe. As far as addon planes, some work, some work with limited functions, and some dont work at all, you just have to experiment. You should also avoid the Gamespy default lobby and select one of the other less used ones, that will minimize connection issues. April 28, 201115 yr Commercial Member You should also avoid the Gamespy default lobby and select one of the other less used ones, that will minimize connection issues. There are a list of decent fsx sessions on the front of our web site here www.fsopen.co.uk/We actually ran a session were we made members team up as captain and co-pilot in 737s flying circuits and talking to ATC. My advice would be to stick to the standard fsx planes only. Click here for GameSpy replacement

So this means that FSX Standard has the shared cockpit funtion great! Visit Us at www.virtualeastern.com
April 28, 201115 yr Would you suggest creating a new session or lobby? As far as the lobby to use, the default is a real pain, try any of the others, they are never loaded and it's much easierRegarding a 'session'. unless you want to be annoyed by uninvited people buzzing around you, one of you should host a session and password it, then the other just joins it.If you need help setting it up, just ask.
