April 29, 201115 yr A month ago I've OC my I7 920 from 2.67 to 4.0 and also upgraded my memory from 4GB 1333MHZ to 6GB 1600MHZ and I'm using the Vantage ALC for CPU cooling...Evrything was working fine and I was able to run prime95 for 8hr without getting any errors or warnings but recently fsx have been freezing from time to time but it doesn't last for long..only a few seconds...below are my OC infos...is there anything that needs to be changed that will fix my freezing issue.Ai Overclock Tuner.....................[Manual]CPU Ratio Setting......................[21.0]Intel® SpeedStep™ Tech............[Disabled]Xtreme Phase Full Power Mode...........[Enabled]BCLK Frequency.........................[191]PCIE Frequency.........................[100]DRAM Frequency.........................[DDR3-1531MHz]UCLK Frequency.........................[3063MHz]QPI Link Data Rate.....................[Auto]CPU Voltage Control....................[Manual]CPU Voltage............................[1.22500]CPU PLL Voltage........................[1.80]QPI/DRAM Core Voltage..................[1.21875]IOH Voltage............................[1.12]IOH PCIE Voltage.......................[1.50]ICH Voltage............................[1.20]ICH PCIE Voltage.......................[1.50]DRAM Bus Voltage.......................[1.64]DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHA...........[Auto]DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHA...........[Auto]DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHB...........[Auto]DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHB...........[Auto]DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHC...........[Auto]DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHC...........[Auto]Load-Line Calibration..................[Enabled]CPU Differential Amplitude.............[800mV]CPU Clock Skew.........................[Delay 300ps]CPU Spread Spectrum....................[Disabled]IOH Clock Skew.........................[Auto]PCIE Spread Spectrum...................[Disabled]C1E Support............................[Disabled]Hardware Prefetcher....................[Enabled]Adjacent Cache Line Prefetch...........[Enabled]Intel® Virtualization Tech...........[Disabled]CPU TM Function........................[Disabled]Execute Disable Bit....................[Enabled]Intel® HT Technology.................[Enabled]Active Processor Cores.................[All]A20M...................................[Disabled]Intel® SpeedStep™ Tech............[Disabled]Intel® C-STATE Tech..................[Disabled]Intel Core I7 920 @ 2.67 OC 4.06GB of RAM DDR3-1600MHZ Sapphire Radeon 5870 1GBASUS P6T S.1366 INT X58/ICH10R ATX 3PCIE X16CORSAIR PS CMPSU-850TX 850W POWER
May 1, 201115 yr I would say that you need to increase CPU voltage, QPI/DRAM core voltage and maybe your ICH and IOH voltages. You may need to increase your DRAM bus voltage and set your DRAM timings. Post the manufacture and model number of your ram and I will tell you want to set your dram timings to. Below are the 4.2GHz settings I had for my 950 / P6T Deluxe v2. One thing about an OC, you can pass stress tests and as you have found still have problems in FSX. If this happens then it is usually just a matter of tweaking your voltages. If it was me for a 920 I would use the OCCT one hour CPU auto test rather than Prime 95 to stress test, it is quicker and more effective for a i7 9XX processor.http://www.ocbase.com/perestroika_en/index.php?DownloadTo stress your memory controller use SuperPI @ 32M settinghttp://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=211You do not say anthing about your core temps, monitor them with RealTemp and with the OCCT CPU test they should never go over 80C, if they do shut down OCCT and get a better HSF.http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/AI Overclock Tuner: ManualCPU Ratio Setting: 21xIntel SpeedStep Tech: DisabledIntel Turbo Mode Tech: DisabledBLCK Frequency: 200PCIE Frequency: 100DRAM Frequency: DDR3-1603MHzUCLK Frequency: 3208MHzQPI Link Data Rate: Auto (3600 MHz)DRAM Timing Control1st Information :CAS# Latency: 6DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay: 7DRAM RAS# PRE Time: 6DRAM RAS# ACT Time: 182nd Information :DRAM Timing Mode: 1N All other DRAM settings are on AutoCPU Voltage: 1.32500CPU PLL Voltage: 1.82QPI/DRAM Core Voltage: 1.34375IOH Voltage: 1.20ICH Voltage: 1.20DRAM Bus Voltage: 1.66Load Line Calibration: EnabledCPU Spread Spectrum: DisabledPCIE Spread Spectrum: DisabledAll Other Settings: AutoAdvance CPU SettingsCPU Ratio Setting: 21x C1E Suppport: DisabledHardware Prefetcher: EnabledAdjacent Cache Line Prefetch: EnabledIntel® Virtualization Tech: DisabledCPU TM Function: Disabled Execute Disable Bit: DisabledIntel HT Techology: DisabledActive Processor Cores: AllA20M: DisabledIntel SpeedStep Tech: DisabledIntel Turbo Mode Tech: DisabledIntel C-STATE Tech: DisabledUnder Advanced Menu: PCIPnPPNP OS = Yes
May 4, 201115 yr Author sorry I made a mistake my cpu voltage is at 1.29375 and my temps are on idle from 35C to 40C and the highest was 79C and my memory is Corsair XMS3 Dominator DDR 1600 8-8-8-24 triple channel
