Hi AllDuring my last several weeks of trying out FS2004, I am finding that the auto pilot sometimes has a lot to be desired.It appears that on some approaches the Localizer will be captured, but the Glideslope will not capture unless you manually disengage the Altitude hold.At other airports both Localizer and GS capture as advertised.Has anyone found a fix or is it something we will have to live with.Tks. for any replys.Kenny G.

Tks. DenisLike yourself I would activate the auto pilot as I had done in FS2002 but I will try your suggestion.If I have it correct activate Nav and Alt when you start to intercept the localizer then activate App when the GS centres itself.Tks. again for your suggestion DenisKenny G.

I to have had problems with the g.s. what I have found if you turn on the app. AFTER the G.s. appears all is well. If you turn it on before the g.s appears the alt. will turn off and the plane will dive to the ground. I use R.c. a lot and the autopilot always turns the app. on before the glideslope is up. This was not a problem in 2002. I went back and check to be sure. I do not know if this is how it is suppose to be in real life or a bug in 2004. But if you wait untill you have the glideslope before you turn on app. it works good. keith

From a previous post:You may want to look at a manual for the king autopilot which I believe is what fs models. Although I have never used a king personally-at least my make of autopilot-you would turn off the alt button and choose app-not alt- when starting the approach.
