MD11 empty weight......FSBuild vs TOPCAT

Recommended Posts

Greetings all,I've noticed FSBuild and TOPCAT use different dry weights for the MD11. FSB has the empty weight as 292,100 for both the pax and cargo versions. TC shows 273,373 for the pax version, and 250,996 for cargo. Which one is correct? Since TC gets the info from the acft.cfg file, I would assume that is correct, but is that really the case? Many thanks

TC has the correct weights for the MD-11. For FSBuild just edit the fsb_aircraft.cfg file and change the empty weight depending on if you flying the pax or cargo version.Sean

In reality, you'll find that each airframe has a different weight and CG. That being said, go with the topcat weight. FSB is an excellent program, but not as detailed as topcat.paul

Thanks, guys. I just changed the fsb_aircraft.cfg file. I added a 2nd "PMDG MD11" section, but renamed the 2nd one as MD11F, modified the weights as needed. I'll test it next time I have time to fly.
