May 15, 201115 yr What are afcad files? From what I read they are addon files for airports. Is that correct?Yes.AFCADis a generic name for these files because there is an application called AFACAD that can be used to create and edit them. AFCAD itself is quite old and and there are new applications. Airport Design editor (ADE) is one. However the files are still often refered to as AFCAD. Gerry Howard
May 15, 201115 yr What most people mean by AFCAD files, is the actual technical data for the airport in FS used by the sim to make it function, as opposed to the visual model. This is the stuff that AI planes use in order to be able to follow taxiways, park at gates etc, but your own aircraft also uses some of that info too.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
