May 20, 201115 yr It has been suggested numerous times that FSX should not be installed within Program Files. My question is what about the addons? If FSX is installed in say C:\FSX, should the addons also be installed on the C drive or is it ok for them to be installed within Program Files? Or does it make a difference?Just curious.Jim
May 20, 201115 yr Many addons ask you to locate your fsx folder as part of the installation. So wherever your fsx folder is you select it and it does the rest.Other addons simply require a location. I dedicate a single HDD to fsx and all addons and anything fsx related goes there.I can imagine having addons and fsx spread all over the place would affect performance but I wouldn't know by how much.I read a while back it is good to keep it all together on a dedicated drive and even in alphabetical order so that when defragmented it can be located at the start of the HDD but I'm not that meticulousTom Tom Why not read some useful tips and tricks - http://forum.avsim.n...22#entry1965722
