May 22, 201115 yr Hey im just now upgrading to FSX after successfully using FS9 on Win7. However i get to the very end of the install screen for FSX and a bunch of error code boxes appear that have to do with license files not being found or existing? and then the install will not complete therefore making me mad, please if anybody has had thensame problem can you give a direction to steer to?ThanksCody
May 22, 201115 yr hmm first time poster.. so here we goQuestion 1: Is it a legal copy or cracked. If it is legal, then you are provided a key which you enter after you install.Secondly, make sure you have updated all the computer files. I think you may need to update the NET framework. Brent Lewis
May 22, 201115 yr Could be a permissions issue, Win 7 might not be allowing some files to be added or modified. The way round this is to install FSX in its own directory on root of the drive. May 22, 201115 yr Could be a permissions issue, Win 7 might not be allowing some files to be added or modified. The way round this is to install FSX in its own directory on root of the drive....or even a separate partition (but in a folder), potentially giving FSX better performance.

I think you may need to update the NET framework.FSX will install whether it is legal or cracked. His problem is that it will not complete the install so that Microsoft can determine whether it is legal or cracked. I think the most important question is - what were the error codes? 1722? You can Google error codes and most of the time a solution will be immediately found. You may be right about the dotnet framework but that is automatically installed with Windows 7. He might need the latest Microsoft Visuals 2005 Redistributables too as those are used by developers to properly install software. Believe this is checked by the FSX installation program though and installed if not found. FSX should install whether antivirus programs are running or not. It should also install properly with UAC enabled as long as he says okay when the security program asks him if it's okay to install something. I would suggest he get one of those free registry cleaners and clean the registry before attempting another install. Since this is his first post, I would also suggest he checkout the link on properly installing FSX, setting it up, and tuning it: http://www.simforums.com/Forums/topic29041.html.Best regards,Jim
May 23, 201115 yr Author I know my profile says I'm a first time poster, ive had an account before but lost all that info so i just created a new one. Im familiar with flight sim so dont assume im completely pathetic. I just couldnt figure it out because its a new copy, (un-used), it never made it to the end of the installation.
